Hey,

Do you guys think it's advisable to have a section for your Objective on your Resume?

What do you mean by objective, exactly? Like, life goals or something?

I was thinking more like career objective. I've attached a snipping tool of an example of what I mean.

For a casual position to have while you're at school, I don't think so. For something that contributes to your actual future career (e.g. an entry level position after graduation from uni), i'd say up to you (it would probably be more suitable here).

I never have. In the career objective you have attached, most of this is skill-related and you can just have a section with your professional skills. The 3.8/4.0 GPA (or WAM/averages/etc) can go in the education section under the degree/qualification its for. A CV/Resume is mostly about organisation and summarising key facts. Fluffing around with extra/repetitive stuff doesn't contribute beneficially to anything.

Yeah, nice. I definitely think it can have a place but probably depends more on what you're applying for/the nature of the rest of the CV. How long is it atm?

EDIT: Yeah, pretty much agree with Aaron.

It's currently one page (double sided).

Personally, I only did this when I was looking at full time jobs and grad programs. Agree with everyone that if you’re just starting your first job ever (part time/ casual/ contract) that you probably can skip it.

It's currently one page (double sided).
If you’re applying for a casual/ part time position, especially your first one, my advice is to keep it simple and short (a page and a half maximum for a high school student, being that you don’t completely fill up both sides of one sheet of paper).
