Current Monash students: Pathways into Law
Transfer into Law from another Monash degree
Internal transfers offer another pathway into law for Monash students. If you are studying for another degree at Monash and performing well, you may be able to transfer into the first year of law. Many students enter a double degree with Law (eg Science/Law), which may still be completed in the minimum time.
This is an achievable option for students who don’t meet the entry requirements first time round.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for an internal transfer into law, students must have:
* Completed one or more years of a Monash degree (ie. a minimum of 48 credit points) and
* Achieved a distinction average or better (70%+) across all Monash units for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), or
* Achieved a credit average or better (60%+) across all Monash units for a domestic or international full-fee place
Important Note: The above averages are the minimum entry criteria to be eligible to apply. Entry to law courses via internal transfer is a very competitive process and the actual average required depends on the number and standard of applications received each year.
