Hey Guys!!! I currently am doing Unit 1 VCE. I want to study accounting extension next year but as there are many options including RMIT, Deakin, Monash and Melbourne Uni, i am pretty confused here. Could somebody guide me please?. Cheers :)

If you have a uni in mind that you would like to go to, or a uni that is easy to get to, maybe start there.

For me the uni is quite far which makes it a bit difficult, but it's not impossible if you really want to go there, as there are possibilities for online lectures Etc.

Currently doing mine at Monash (not accounting) and have no problems, the workload is a bit annoying but it's not too bad tbh.

Just adding in my 2c.

Some factors you should definitely think about:
- Cost? (Monash UEP costs $450 per term, whereas Melbourne UEP is free for accounting, travel and other necessary costs)
- Travel time (It's takes me 1.5 hours just to go to my school centre, so please do think about this. I think Accounting is an onsite course for Melbourne, so you only need to travel to Melbourne uni- I am not sure about other unis)
- Class times (Make sure it suits your timetable)
- Prerequisites (Some UEPs require you to get certain marks in your subjects- for Melbourne it is generally 85%+)
- Permission? (Your school/ parents may not allow you to go to a certain uni)
- Workload (already mentioned by occidit, I am also not enjoying my maths workload at the moment  :P)

Also make sure you do your own research (find out when applications open, the completion of necessary files required for the application etc...)

Monash for me is 400 a semester. Is this an accounting only thing?

If you don't gain any distinct advantages from any particular univeristy (such as credit to a university you plan on going later on), pick the 'worst' university as it is easier to get the full increment [5.0] . I've seen people who get the full 5.0 (50 equiv) at rmit while getting <40 for the rest of their subjects.

So rmit/deakin then monash the melbourne

I dunno. I don't think the score is the main thing you go for when you do an enhancement subject (not for me anyway). If you want to maximise your score, DON'T do an enhancement subject unless you have a very strong foundation beforehand and are confident in achieving highly in your 3/4s, as Uni subjects literally make up 0-5 aggregate points, which could mean just a .05 atar difference.

Pick the university that works best for you; that you are most interested in. It's something you do for the whole year, so you want to enjoy yourself while doing it.

Syndicate's points about class times Etc are also prudent. For me it is super easy because I go in once a fortnight 2-5 on a Monday, but this may not be the same for you Etc.

As for the cost, there are a number of Monash scholarships available if you are disadvantaged / rural etc, same for other unis, so make sure to carefully check everything to see what works best for you.

Best of luck

$450, but if you can't afford it, there are definitely scholarship options etc

It's only for when all universities are equal, because who wouldn't take a higher increment? And I don't think you can make a judgement without trying the course out yourself. Unlike Maths or Science, Accounting should be very similar regardless of uni.
