Biomedicine at Melbourne :-\ I made a huge mistake in not choosing Science instead. Just so you get an idea of how uninformed I was: every single one of my preferences was Biomed at various universities. I did that despite everyone warning me against Biomed and telling me to choose Science instead. I didn't want to "waste" my higher ATAR.

Does anyone know if I can change my first preference? I know that there are 2nd round offers, but I'm afraid that spots in Science at Melbourne will be filled by the time 2nd round offers are here :( perhaps I can swap with someone else who didn't get into biomed but got into science..
Yeah I recommend anyone considering biomed read this: https://medstudentsonline.com.au/forum/threads/common-pitfalls-to-avoid-for-year-12-school-leavers-and-other-medicine-applicants.32824/#post-303099

You can change your preferences from 17-25th. I'd recommend you 100% accept your biomedicine offer, change your preference putting science as first and see how it goes in second round. You can back out of Biomedicine if you get a science offer later.

I don't know if that will work, but I'll try it! Thanks! :)

Huge congrats to all who have received offers! And commiserations to those who haven't received the offers they wanted - first round offers are merely one of the many keys to the many doors of your future :)

Hoping to see a couple of people who have been offered physio at Monash! :D

Arts is awesome! Congrats - do you know what you're hoping to study as part of your degree?

Thanks :)

At this stage I am thinking of doing a double major - Criminology/Media + Communication.

I'm not 100% set on what I want to postgrad in, hence the Arts degree....but targeting a JD at this stage.

Got Computer Science at Monash despite my doubts of the updated selection rank!

Yet, I am morbidly curious for what VTAC sends to those who don't recieve an offer.
Can anyone who didn't recieve one PM me what VTAC sent you? Without your actual ID or data, btw (although in a forum focused on VCE and Uni education, I highly doubt there are many who didn't, let along willing to show it).

Congratulations to all!! I love this time of year when people finally realise after all their hard work, it has paid off.

For those where the above isn't true - there are so many options available to you. You may feel defeat, but it's short term and you can definitely find alternative ways to still get to where you want to go. A lot of unis offer pathway options (e.g. do a Diploma at their TAFE equivalent and then enter 2nd year uni)... schemes like this mean you won't miss much! Please reach out to somebody who can assist if you are one of these people, don't sit there and stew on it... you'll drive yourself bonkers.

Edit: Also forgot to mention there are still a few other rounds to go..... silly me jumping the gun. Take advantage of change of preference and ensure your preference list reflects your updated preferences (don't take into account the fact you didn't get an offer for x or y course). Any offered courses already should be moved to the bottom after you accept it. While it is less likely after the first round, there is still hope and in a scenario where you don't get what you want the first time.. try try again. In any situation, getting your foot into a university is a good first step so it may even be worth revisiting your options.
