nothing.
From the van, all Jones could see was a vast expanse of open nothingness - no land, no sea, no sky. Simply nothing. He began to wonder if he was truly real.
A staggering blow to the back of his head reassured him of his reality. 'Get out, scum!' screamed his captor.
Jones felt a ball of cold anger explode in his stomach. With a sudden sense of invincibility, born of his long experience with the Navy Seals, Quetzacotl tribes, and most terrifying of all, two-headed Tasmanians (statist isn't as unacceptable as racist, yeah?) he turned to face his opponent with a deadly calm.
'Do you know what I think?' he uttered scornfully. 'I think...'
"I think you should fuc.." "Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!", bullets whizzed above Jones head, convincing him that his delusional fantasy of fighting of his captors is mere stupidity.
Taking advantage of the captor's "new-found respect", the captor taunted: "Where do you think your wife and kids are huh?" "They simply don't exist!" he added scornfully.
Before Jones could respond, the driver exitted the vechicle and faced towads Mr Jones, he asked politely: "Captain, agent Jones, do you remember me? I'm Nojima, your partner during the resistance movement remember?"
Jones responded Nojima with a blank and confused stare.
"It is ******* useless, he has already been brainwashed multiple times by the "Indoctrinate". Remarked the man angrily, "Let's give up and shoot him already, he is the property of the "Indoctrinate", I don't want them to know that we exist and..."
Nojima interrupted: "Sir, let's give him another chance, let him rest for the night, I've already ordered Private Ryan to set up the tents, then we shoot him in the morning."
"In the head." The man added.
Jones finally found the courage to talk "Liars! There is no such thing as the "Indoctrinate" and there is no such thing as the "resistance movement", I have lived a happy life under utopia with our current government, if the "Indoctrinate" existed, woulnt it create a dystopian society, and thus everyone be aware of that?"
"Oh, you see.." The man said, "How many of your memories are unhappy memories?"
Jones replied: "I dont have any unhappy memories, because the "Indoctrinate" doesnt exist at all!"
"When was our current government elected, Jones?" The man asked.
"About 20 years ago, why?" Jones Replied.
"Try to remember Jones" The man added impatiently.
Jones reflected his childhood, teen years, adulthood, marriage, his employment and up till his kidnapping. He immediately realised that his adulthood was much more happier than his childhood. Scanning through his memories, he remembers being abused by his grandfather in his barn, then dropped out of school , neglected and ditched by his parents at the age of 8. Jones scans further into the future, the new government has just been elected, anti-cancer vaccines were being deployed, global peace treaties were being signed, his grandfather suddenly disappears and parents after some 16 years reappear again.
"Something is just wrong" Jones remarked.
"Did you remember the day you took the anti-cancer vaccine?" The man asked, now in a more sincere tone.
"The vaccines were designed so that the doctors were able to...
