It was suggested that I do 4 hours of study/revision per subject per week...that's 24 hours a week...
Is it realistic, has anyone done this?

Depends on the time of year. I’ve had weeks in the year where I’ve studied up to 30 hours and other weeks where I’ve only fit in 2-3 hours of study. I think ~20 hours is a healthy amount of hours to maintain but again it really comes down to how much work you have and how effectively you use your time. I know people who do a ton of extra curricular stuff and probably spend 15 hours a week on study yet still perform really well because their limited hours are used to their full potential.
