Title: Songs from childhood!
Post by: sweetiepi on March 28, 2017, 07:16:45 pm
So, I just randomly started singing old songs from my childhood and I'm really wanting to know what music y'all grew up with!

To start off, here's my broad list:
Nutbush City Limits- Ike and Tina Turner
Asereje (The ketchup song)- Las Ketchup
Macarena- Los Des Rio
Who let the dogs out- Baha Men
Mambo No. 5- Lou Bega
Waterloo- ABBA
Dancing Queen- ABBA
YMCA- The Village People
Video Killed the Radio Star- The Buggles
Time of your life- Greenday
I'm a believer- The Monkees
I love rock and roll- Joan Jett & The Black Hearts
I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)- The Proclaimers
MMMbop- Hanson

(Yes, I remembered all those songs and the band/artist without googling ::) ;D )

I was about to start a thread about this, until I realised Insanipi was lovely enough to start it months ago! It didn't get enough love, however, so let's continue the discussion!

When I was with my parents, I was raised on rock: INXS, Bob Seger, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, Queen, Screaming Jets, Guns n' Roses, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, Skid Row, stuff like that. So many bands.

When I was with my uncle, I was raised on metal: Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Death, Motorhead, Machinehead, Venom, stuff like that. My uncle is a big metalhead. His favourite band, however, is ABBA.

As anyone who has seen me in the music boards knows, I listen to a lot of rock/metal nowadays, so it's obvious how much I have been influenced :D

I personally love Broadway musicals. I love to watch the Lion King very much. For me, it is nostalgia since childhood. Luckily, they are not only in New York. I'm from Las Vegas and I can watch them there. Who did not look, be sure to view it here https://best-vegas.com/broadway-shows/. Thanks for the post.
