I am having significant trouble formulating contentions and topic sentences when I try to write Rear Window text response practice essays. I've watching the movie maybe 5 times (from an analytical perspective), and had no major trouble with this when preparing for my language analysis SAC.

Any tips?

When I was doing LA prep, I looked over dozens of practice essays by other students which really helped solidify my understanding, and I hope to do so with this. The problem is that there are extremely few Rear Window text response essays on the net.

What would your contention and topic sentences be for these prompts?

Hitchcock celebrates the modern woman and criticises the old-fashioned man in Rear Window.
Hitchcock’s characters are lost in their own lonely façades. Do you agree?
How does Hitchcock highlight the pitfalls of modern, urban living?
Jeff never truly “emerges from this plaster cocoon.” Discuss.
“There can’t be that much difference between people and the way they live.” To what extent does Rear Window support this view?

Thanks for any help you can give!  :)
