'Triangle rule' for addition of complex numbers

This is in relation to Q5 Short Answer of the 2003 VCAA examination which was about plotting points on an Argand diagram. The assessment report talks about the 'triangle rule' or 'parallelogram rule' for adding complex numbers, do they mean similar to adding vectors? What's the best way to tackle part (c) of that question (Q5)?

The triangle rule / parallelogram rule is the same for complex numbers as it is for vectors, so simply do what you do for vectors and apply that onto complex numbers.

I'll check out the question soon.
