YAY exams are overrr!!!!

Currently just watching 'Bring it on: All or Nothing' as I am buggered. I had an afternoon sleep earlier to just rejuvenate and refresh my mind.
I'm also just fixing up my notes and organising them for the holidays, I might have to share a photo of my study desk and organisation when I finish!! :)))

Helloooo!

I haven't been on here since last term, but I am back and ready for term 2 (technically term 3)!
Holidays was such a blast and super busyyy with socialising and whatnot, however, 4 days prior to the new term I ended up modifying and organising my chemistry notes and maths, though, not completing the rest. I'm not too worried... I guess... thats a lie.

Year 12 is tough with making appropriate decisions when it comes to priorities. But its okay, I received my half-yearly exam marks and wellll I'm ranked 2nd in English and got 15/15 for my essay!!! I do not know how I did it, but I screwed my head on and off I went. I think the crying released all the stressed and anxiety tbh.

It's been a rough ride with friends, family and school, but I'm sure ill get there at the end.

I think I did pretty well with my other exams as I broke up with my s/o in the MIDDLE exams! I do not know how I did it, but I pulled up my pants and off I went. I think the crying released all the stressed and anxiety tbh.

Incredible results in your English Exam, well done cocopops!! Awesome to hear ;D

The HSC stretches over 2 years, only natural that it might overlap with some tricky situations. Keep your head held high :)

^^ Can totally agree, the only reason I haven't broken down from most my marks is because I remember Jamon saying he didn't do well half way through then smashed it. The updates actually become highlights of my weekend lol! Oh, the things the HSC does to people.

So I've been working on my Mod C 'Texts and Society' - Exploring Interactions: 'The Black Balloon' as my prescribed text. Though the exciting part, I'm thinking of using 'This is America' by Childish Gambino as my related texts as it totally suits the module. Although, I'm having trouble with finding similar themes that could be linked between the two. 'This is America' explores the gun violence/police brutality ingrained within American culture and how it has become normalized and marginalized within society, plus, Glover uses social media as the platform where the viewers (us being the society) are exposed to the viral dances adopted from african-american culture on the foreground whilst chaotic riots are being depicted on the screen. Ultimately, sending that cinematic message of society being distracted by social media and involuntary being ignorant to real global issues... AS you can see, I'm very passionate with my related text however I need more evidence/explanation to create a conceptual essay!!! (might post this in another forum to get some help, thought I should just update my wonderful feed of mine)

I'm actually going to the Monash info evening on Wednesday night in Canberra, which I'm so stoked to go to!!!
Will keep you's updated soon :)

Hey Cocopops,

How was the Monash info evening? What are you thinking of studying post HSC?

Hi BrittyG!

I've been flat out with assessments, essays and homework lately so I haven't had time on here (thought at the moment I do :) )

So to answer your question... The Monash Info Evening was really engaging and informative, particularly, the spokeswoman who knew her stuff about clayton campus, what they offer and whatnot. Although, they don't offer any bridging courses for mathematics 1, and if you don't complete the prereq then you will not be able to apply or be accepted... which i was really bumbed out. However, I still have a passion in one day going to the institution probably with differing courses of BSci/BCom instead of my initial plan of BEng/BCom.
I will still try to apply to USYD and other universities since they do offer bridging courses.
One thing, that also caught my attention (or how I interpreted) was how she really emphasised on 'we only accept high-achievers, so if you're not one, then this university isn't for you' which I agree considering they are a recognisable uni globally, still, I thought that was a bit disappointing and discouraging. Now I really do regret dropping ext 1 in year 11 :/.

I hope this helps with anyone who are on the same boat as me.  :)

Guys... I am actually stressing tf out with Chemistry, I don't know how to properly study science subjects and I literally procrastinate everytime. I. Need. Motivation.
What reallly stresses me out the most, is the fact that I only do 10 units so it "shouldn't be hard" for me because "it's only 5 subjects". But it is hard, because I'm only a slightly above average student, with mates who are wayyyy smarter than me. I really do lack confidence in my self and academic performace and sometimes (I know you're not suppose to) I compare myself with others and that just tears down my wall of confidence/facade.

BUT HEY,
it's normal right? 8)

Hey guys,

SO for those of you who needs this type of reassurance, it is okay that you get beaten sometimes, but don't beat yourself up about it. I see all these talented and intelligent kids who have potential in engineering, doctorate and "high-paying" occupations to accomplish in life. But make sure you're doing something your passionate about.

You don't need to read books everyday to perceive yourself to be an intellectual, travelling, going to concerts, binging movies/shows is equivalent, it doesn't mean you're not as intellectual as the kid who enjoys science subjects, it's all the stereotypical stigma thats been ingrained into our heads as a child. I do this to myself a lot but I try and not overwhelm myself about it.

Be ambitious. Whether it be, finishing a season in one day, reading a book in 3 hours, organizing your room, finding a cure for cancer, whatever it is, ensure you're doing it for yourself and for the better good, not for someone whose controlling the choices you're trying to make.

Overall, get your butt off atarnotes/ refreshing your gmail, do some work and get on with life!!!
