Hey everyone

I haven't gotten my SAC marks but I think I roughly know where I sit for methods.
Estimated Unit 3 SAC Score: E+ (Scaled to roughly D+ usually)
Estimated Unit 4 SAC Score: D (Scaled to roughly C usually)

What exam mark would I need on Exam 1 and Exam 2 to be able to get a 25 - 28 Study score for Methods? Cohort is very strong especially for Methods.
2019 - Geography [41]
2020 - English, Methods, Chem, Bio and Psych [39]
2021 - 2023 Bachelor of Science at Monash

What kind of study score am I looking at for English?
Unit 3 - averaged 85%, ranked #1-3/19
Unit 4 - averaged 80%, ranked #1-3/19
Final rank #1-2/19
Cohort is probably average but with a fairly strong top band (and I think the marker is pretty harsh, but I could be wrong)
Aim for exam - ~80-90%

Am I on track for 40+? What exam score would I need to get that, given SAC marks?
VCE 20
HHD MM Revs (F/R) Eng T&T
ATAR 85
Uni 21-24: BNursing/BMidwifery @ Deakin
Y1T2:
HNM102
HNN122 (double)
HNN114
I hope I don't fail....

Based on these scores you are definitely looking at 40+ possibly even into the mid-40s.

hey! can someone please predict my study score for Biology? i was aiming for a 40+ but is that still possible?

U3 average: 84%
U4 average: 86%

also, there's an even spread from top to bottom in our cohort!

thanks in advance! :)

yeah I would think it is still possible but your exam score will be the biggest factor on determining whether you get 40+

95+ if you know your SACs will scale to A+, 100+ to be safe

spec maths:

rank 2/5 (average cohort) —> If I do better than rank 1, can I still end up with a raw 45+ [if rank 1 drops 10 marks throughout both exams]

rank 3/5 (average cohort) —> How many marks can I drop in both exams for a 45+ [same scenario]

Hi

I rank 6 from a cohort of 25 in English. My cohort is average but top 8 of the cohort is pretty strong (likely to get 40 and above for English). Can I still get a high study score like 40 or 45 and is exam worth 50%

If you think the top 8 are likely to score 40+ and you are rank 6 then it is probable you will also get that 40+. However, you would still need a good exam score equivalent to a 40+ study score. Also yes the exam is worth 50%.

Hi! I just got back my Unit 4 sacs so I was wondering if you could please do Bio?
Cohort size: 100-120
Cohort strength: strong- our sacs scale up
Unit 3 average: 88%
Rank: top 10

Unit 4 average: 83%
Rank: I don't know but worst case scenario is middle 50%

Exam mark: 115+/120
2020: Biology [43]
2021: Methods, Chemistry, HHD, English, Further

Hi! I just got back my Unit 4 sacs so I was wondering if you could please do Bio?
Cohort size: 100-120
Cohort strength: strong- our sacs scale up
Unit 3 average: 88%
Rank: top 10

Unit 4 average: 83%
Rank: I don't know but worst case scenario is middle 50%

Exam mark: 115+/120

So I've plugged this into my calculator, and it's pulling a study score of 39-46. This assumes your SACs don't change, so at a worst case, you can probably assume you'll likely get above 40 if you get that exam mark. For slightly more hopeful, I increased your SACs to 95% and 90% - and this ensures your study score will be above 40, but your predicted upper bound doesn't change.

So I'd say >40 is a good prediction, and >45 isn't off the table for you yet if that's where you're aiming.

My prediction is a little different from the above. I think you at the very least should be getting a 45+ study score. A score like 115/120 on a bio exam most years is a 50 but depending on how your sacs score may change it a little.
Biology is a subject where you can lose a bunch of marks and still pull a high 40/50.
