You know how I said if you go to uni during peak time your fine. Well today I got checked again, at 9:30am inside the 401 bus. (Had positive balance this time  8))

I saw them fining this guy for using a dysfunctional myki because it had cracked. I was ammused when i heard that the ticket inspector said something like this:

"I'm going to show you my badge now, I'm Paul Joseph. You are not obliged to say or do anything, anything you do or say can be used against you in a court of law".

UHHHHHHHH did they just rip out a police line??????

They have to say that for legal reasons. Do you think he'd just make that shit up? You'd probably get in trouble for lying.

Woah ease up.... Obviously I understand why it had to be said. I'm sorry that you couldn't see the humour behind it coming from the TI's.

University decreased CSPs in the MD in favour of significantly increasing FFPs. At this point I'm going to stop defending the model and just admit they're chasing dollars.

PagingDr is making quite good reading at the moment. Looks like the cutoffs for MD have risen a lot...

I am honestly surprised, I didn't think they'd go up this much. Maybe I'll end up in honours next year :S

How close do you think you'll end up Russ? Did you have any other preferences?

This isn't boding well for me when I apply for 2013 :(

I should get an interview despite the high cutoff. I listed Deakin and ANU as my next two, neither of which are out yet. That said, I've been going through the motions with the entire MD thing and I'm not sure if it is actually right for me. Hopefully I get that sorted between now and December.

You'll be alright, such a big decision though (I can only imagine). Good luck with it :)

Totally stressed out about the cutoffs at the moment :( Didn't get my 2nd preference (Monash) either, not looking good for me at all. Looks like I'll end up with a useless Science degree :(

Not sure why I can't edit my last post but just wanted to say I'm not that interested in going on to do research with my BSc (hence useless). Not that a science degree is useless as a whole.

I will warn you this:

DO NOT BE A CASUALTY OF THE MELBOURNE MODEL!!!!!!!

Don't think like that.  Start researching looking out for the different types of careers and options available.  Show Mr. Davies that you're better than that!

EDIT:  Crossed out a word.  Pun not intended.

I would think if you didn't get Monash there's still a chance you'll get UoM?

If you don't want to do research, you could apply for one of the other professional entry Masters programs? Or something broader like public health?
