Title: OMG I need clarity!!!!! Can I still get a good score?
Post by: comb yeah on June 01, 2020, 06:58:52 pm
Ok so I had my language analysis SAC on a Friday and I didn't get time to finish it, I was halfway done to finishing my final body paragraph meaning I didn't analyse the second article for my final paragraph at all when the teacher told us to STOP. I really want to get above 85% on this SAC, is that dream reachable with an intro and two body paragraph and a half final paragraph?  :-[ :-[

I guess it is still possible in theory. People have even scored 50's in English without finishing some essays so marker's generally look at your piece as a whole rather than thinking of what you haven't done. Having a conclusion isn't even necessary (imo) for a  language analysis.

Whether you are able to get above or below 85% is not too significant also since you should have more sacs to come and the exam contributes to 50% of your study score. Use this experience to see what you should be doing so that you can finish your future essays whether that be more prepared, written more essays, used timing in practice etc

Thanks, Sine that makes me feel better I will definitely try to complete more essays under time conditions.

Yes I had a friend last year that never finished any of his essays (always didn't finish the last body or conclusion) yet still somehow got the max score range (8-10/10).
