Phew, after all that sweating and nerves throughout the paper, Exam 2 is over and so is Exam 1.

So what do you reckon you need to get to get a:
a)50
b)47-49
c)45
d)40
E)35
f)30

NB: I used higher SS, because FSN'ers represent a pretty skewed population(=comparitively really smart)

Btw, everyone in my school and that I know found Exam 2 long and pretty challenging.

I'd be interested to see what kind of scores are required for a 37-38.

You might find my estimates a bit silly/out of touch, but here goes:

50- 115+ across the 2 papers

45- 100+ across the 2 papers

40-90+ across the two papers

30- 50+ across the 2 papers.

kido_1, i sure hope you're close to the truth..most people found it quite hard, so you never know what will happen.

As a guide, based on the really difficult 2004 cohort (proportionally)

40: 17 marks loss across two papers
45: Drop 6 marks across two papers
50: Expect perfect or one of two off. The state is inhabited by freaks you know.

EDIT: These are very ROUGH estimations only.

It's not easy to guess as I've only just realised the normalising process is not uniform.

Yes. I cannot guess CAS. The cohort is too small to make even a rough estimation.

Lift those predictions up a couple of points.

With only 700 in the group, you know only 40 get 40+. (Based on Chinese)

So, in that case, I assume the cut-offs are higher. But read the stats report and make your own predictions - I can't download off the VCAA website for some reason.

Actually I calculated from Exam 2 in 2004.

You can get 100/110= 145/160
and get a 45

You forgot that the scores are doubled.

Halve that. 145/160 halved is a 7 mark difference.

Go figure.
