This post follows on from
yesterday's announcement of some of our new mods. Today, we're announcing the remaining moderators who will be joining the team in this round.
Again, each of these mods has demonstrated excellent contributions to the community over a long period of time & we are incredibly excited to welcome them on board. Their names speak for themselves, so without any further ado let's welcome them in!
Class of 2020 Year 12 GraduatesVCE Congratulations to new State Moderator: ArtyDreamsAREAS: VCE ArtArtyDreams was the awarded the first MotM of 2020, having contributed
methods tips, supported others in their journey journals and accountability threads, and extensively participated in the science games (e.g. this
at home experiment example). She has also taken the initiative to create guides like this
timeline of methods advice and
bound reference guide. Furthermore, ArtyDreams has written an article for ATAR Notes on
how to stay motivated and has contributed to less-visited areas like textual analysis. Her ability to bring enthusiasm and support to a wide variety of areas, passion for art, and history of fantastic posts makes ArtyDreams the perfect choice to bring new life to VCE art.
Congratulations to new State Moderator: GeooAREAS: Creative Corner, VCE Journey JournalsGeoo is absolutely a community poster with almost 300 posts in VCE Journey Journals, the vast majority of these not in her own journal. Geoo's community efforts - and great work in their baking journal in the creative corner - was recognised when she was awarded MotM December 2019. Even outside of these areas, Geoo has been a highly supportive and encouraging presence. This has included taking the initiative to make new threads like this
subject improvements one. I am confident Geoo's enthusiasm for food tech, supporting others journeys, and the community in general will continue to uplift these areas as she takes on this new role.
HSC Congratulations to new State Moderator: Justin_LAREAS: HSC Technology, HSC History, HSC VETJustin_L joined the forums early this year and very quickly made an impression. He was awarded MotM in July, having begun that month with giving detailed
English Advanced feedback and contributing a fantastic
HSC VET answer to a question about allied health. Justin_L has also contributed around the HSC forums academically and supporting others - so much so that he was awarded the honourable mention for NSW MVP 2020 in the ATAR Notes Awards. Justin_L's suitability for history, technology and VET is also very apparent when reading his HSC journey journal and I am sure he will be an excellent moderator of those sections!
QCE Congratulations to new State Moderator: K.SmithyAREAS: QCE Biology, QCE Psychology, QCE PhysicsK.Smithy joined the forums in 2019 and in her first full month of posting was awarded MotM October 2019. She has been a brilliant help with posts like this
bio assignment guide,
speech feedback. Then when you look at K.Smithy's
bio and
psych comprehensive and detailed notes it's very clear why K.Smithy was awarded for QCE science at the ATAR Notes Awards. Beyond that, K.Smithy participates in community threads and is supportive of other forum members, including giving encouragement in interstate journals. The community has recognised her with awarding QCE MVP for both years she's been part of the forums & I can't wait to see K.Smithy's contributions as a mod.
Non-year 12 Applicants Congratulations to new State Moderator: Owlbird83AREAS: VCE LOTE, General Discussion, VCE BiologyOwlbird83 is one of those amazing users that ramps up their engagement when they reach university. This resulted in Owlbird83 being made MotM in September for her efforts in biology regularly answering questions and stand out posts like
guidance on social life at uni,
physics help,
LOTE advice, and
QCE chem information. Even before then, she was a regular contributor with some fantastic posts like this
bio guide. OwlBird83 is also very community-minded and took the initiative to organise the last two ATAR Notes meet ups. Her real post count is over 1800 if forum games and casual chat are included - this is from a long history of engaging in other general discussion. Her supportive and encouraging nature as well as her academic help were recognised by the community in her being awarded the Bengali Lok Annual Award 2020, as well as being the honourable mention for most encouraging in the 2020 ATAR Notes Awards. There is no doubt you'll be a fantastic moderator, welcome to the team!
