Title: Is it possible to still do well in year 12?
Post by: Stormbreaker-X on June 10, 2021, 08:52:54 am
Guys I am in the hot seat, so far year 12 for me has been going pretty average if not bad. So my SAC scores are as follows,
English-I am scoring pretty average and my cohort overall is also average.
Further math-Sacs scores are not out yet, but I am averaging around the 60's-70's.
Biology-I got off on the wrong foot and studied everything wrong, I scored 40% for my first SAC which I barely passed and just failed the second one.
Chemistry-Didn't pass any SACs
Economics-This subject is my ace card, I scored 90% on my first SAC and 91% on my practice SAC. I know I am ranked pretty high in the cohort.
My main question is which those marks if I SMASH UNIT 4 which I intend to, would I still be able to score a study score of 30 or above? PLZ HELP ME I AM SO DESPERATE :'(
May I also add that I did a unit 3/4 last year and scored a study score of 25, which scales down.

First of all, raw SAC scores mean nothing in VCE, what matters is your ranking and relative cohort strength. You can definitely still do well if you learn from your mistakes for unit 4 and the exam, remember unit 3 only accounts for 16-25% of your study score, you can definitely pull through with the remaining 75-84% of your course. Always remember that once you get to uni, you probably won’t have to do anything you don’t want to again, so you can focus 100% on eco if that interests you. If you need help in bio or chem, you can DM me because I’m doing biomed with a chem minor. I want to practice my explaining skills because I want to become a teacher if I don’t get into medicine.
