PF's photos!

Full Disclosure: I am not a creative person. I do like taking photos though, I haven't really done it just for the sake of it in a while but I enjoy it so maybe I will. For me taking photos is very peaceful, good photos cannot be taken when distracted, so it really forces me to focus on the present.

Expect to see lots of photos of ducks from the pond/wetland area (depending on how recently it has flooded) in my park, and probably some from the creek too.

School camp
In April we went up to Gunbower creek (near the Murray river) to work with Turtles Australia to record raided turtle nests. Around 90-95% of turtle eggs are eaten by foxes each year. It is expected that they will be extinct, or very close to in 100 years (they live to around 80) if nothing changes.

Baby Eastern long neck turtle

Baby Broadshell turtle (we were recording nests from this species)

Adult Broadshell Turtle - This one was around 25-30cm across its shell

A raided broadshell turtle nest

One of the areas where we were looking for nests

A black swamp we visited

The Murray River

Wodonga
Hume Damn (Actually across the border in NSW but we were staying in Wodonga)

Wodonga town

The sky from where we were staying

Photos from the pond and creek

I got my brother stick insects for Christmas. This is the youngest one. She is female - you can tell by the bumps along her back, males have smooth(er) backs. Sorry the photos are a bit blurry, she would not stay still.

I've only had him for a few weeks. Originally he lived at my primary school. He started off in a prep class (5 year olds named him lol). We thought he was around 6 years old but now we're thinking he's 7 or 8 years old because we know he was in a grade 2 class 6 years ago.

It's, uh, been a while :-[

This entire thread is pretty much just photos of animals so I'm going to continue that theme for now haha

I got a bigger tank for my goldfish because they were too big for their old one, so I also got two new catfish to join them.
felix
Named after Felix the cat because he has an orange head.

Vladimir
So the naming idea here was Vladimir Putin, Putin sounds like Patting, you pat cats, he's a catfish, so his name is Vlad :)

Houdini (one of my now massive goldfish)

Franklin, my turtle because he's cute and I wanted to take photos of him

Also we have this dwarf neon rainbow fish at school that has some sort of issue so he swims at a weird angle haha

I drew a fish rather than studying. Oops.
Spoiler
He looks very lifeless, something about his face is wrong lol.
Also I don't have the correct colours. I needed both a darker and a lighter blue but oh well

I've been seeing some pretty birds on my ride to work, so I went and took photos of them. (slightly dodgy photo quality here because they were taking too long to upload properly).

Had no idea what species they were hence the lack of name in the spoiler haha, I’d barely gotten 10m along the creek and I had to stop to take photos cos they were so darn cute 😍
My ability to identify birds is pretty much just pigeon, magpie, rainbow lorikeets, spotted doves haha.

Thanks poet <3

Walked up Mount Ainslie to watch the sunset last night. Lots of stairs at the end, but it's worth it ;D You're probably going to have to click on some of the photos to unstretch them btw.

Photos of the sunset last night from the bridge from Civic to parliament house ;D
Pls unstretch the photos to appreciate the panoramas. Turns out it's really hard to take a panorama with a zoomed in lens whilst your fingers are going numb from the cold :'(
