Undergrad medicine at Monash and English Language

Under consideration requirements, it says that you either need to have a 30 in English or a 35 in EAL. I'm having trouble believing that they don't accept EL and just need someone to confirm this in case I'm overlooking a detail/facet of how the VCE works.

By "English", they refer to one of Mainstream English, English Language or Literature and in at least one of these you need to score at least 30. Can confirm because I did Eng Lang only ;D
