Recently watched an old fave you recommend? Want to tell us if a movie was good or bad? Excited for an upcoming movie?

Well here's the place to discuss! ;D

Spoiler
I'm probably going to be dragged to see Pitch Perfect 3 late next week, and I think the trailers were crap- doesn't look good for the movie lol

Just rewatched the Babadook. Amazing horror movie that isn’t like your typical jump-scare-filled ones.

IT 2017.

- Wasn't really scary for me. I reckon the cinema environment/a home theatre with surround sound, would make this better.
- Georgie scene is sick (literally, not meaning cool), who thinks of this crap.
- Graphics/visuals are fantastic.
- That last encounter with Bill and Georgie, ahhhh that even got to me. Was great :)
- I always find myself going back to the 'Flute Lady', now THAT is creepy.

3 stars?

Should defnitely watch the new Star Wars movie.

The ultimately blend of darkness mixed with occasional light humour that integrates you within the sci-fi world of fantasy/imagination.

Quote from Dorothy Woodend:
Striking the right balance between new ideas (the rise of women, the end of old white men, and a new universe of togetherness) with the same old stuff (explosions, good guys, bad guys, metal guys, fleshy things with noses where their ears should be) is a delicate art. And to be fair, the film hits the sweet spot between mono-mythic hoo-haw, old fashioned space western, and a new age of intersectionality.

If you mean the bit with the arm, that was in the books, so Stephen King thinks of that crap

I absolutely loved The Last Jedi so I was very surprised to see how it divided the fanbase while remaining a hit with the critics. The acting was superb, Rian Johnson handled most of the characters very well, and on a whole it was a very enjoyable unpredictable action film with some absolutely stunning shots and fight sequences. Kylo Ren is now possibly my favourite Star Wars villain as well.

As for my favourite movie of 2017, it would have to be Thor Ragnarok. I’ll admit I’m a sucker for superhero movies, but this film exceeded my expectations in every way with a perfect blend of humour, action and emotion, providing a satisfying end to a mostly disappointing trilogy.

La La Land!!

I watched it a few days ago. I heard some really good reviews and comments about it, which peaked my curiosity. I'm not a fan of musical movies, but oh my goodness, this movie was an exception. Everything from the natural acting to the aesthetic settings to the retro atmosphere to the amazing writing to the heart-wrenching ending is absolutely phenomenal. And don't get me started on the original soundtrack - that is too beautiful for words.

Highly recommend! Definitely a 10/10 for me!!!

Mean Girls. My obsession with the movie goes as far as having 2 beanies with classic mean girl quotes on them. The only movie that has a Christmassy scene in it that is somewhat bearable to watch 😂

Star Wars TLJ was okayish imo- I'd probably give it a 6/10 :)

That's the one. First time I saw it I cringed. Big step up from the 1990s one.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

This is probably my favourite film. During the Cold War, a KGB agent and a CIA officer must work together to stop a global meltdown. Simple premise, but fun action, and the banter is top notch. It has a romantic subplot, which I normally dislike, but it's one I actually enjoy in this film. Can't telll which of the three characters I enjoy most.

Yes, The Greatest Showman is amazing. You know a film soundtrack is awesome when your own mother buys the CD and plays it in her car every chance she gets. I love it, too, very catchy songs. 'This Is Me' is a masterpiece of a song; it's my favourite out of them all. 'A Million Dreams' comes close though.

Hugh Jackman was amazing, Michelle Williams sang perfectly, and Zac Efron and Zendaya were fantastic too. 10/10, amazing musical. Even someone who doesn't usually watch musicals would enjoy this.

Have yet to see The Disaster Artist, but I would like to at some stage. Anyone else seen it?

Never actually watched SW, but I feel like it is just part of the SW fan community to hate every new movie that comes out!

Kinda sad really, I finally got to watch Frozen for the first time a while ago (cause, come on guys, it's that movie that everyone has to watch at some time in their life). It wasn't as bad as I expected, and some of the music was pretty good.
