A few I've enjoyed (and may have been mentioned once or twice):
- The Flash
- Arrow (although anything past season 3 isn't that flash :) )
- Friends
- Hawaii 5-O

I don't watch much TV and this year has been an all time low :P

Suits*
Breaking Bad*
Community*
Dexter
Scrubs*
How to Get Away with Murder
Master of none
HIMYM*
Friends*
Archer
Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Most of these aren't actually that iconic apart from the obvious ones* but they all get the job done.

Also I want to watch Friday Night Lights but the last time I checked (months -years ago) they took it off Netflix and cbs streaming.

Breaking Bad is one of the best of all time, so adding my vote to that one too. Such a ridiculous premise but actually really, really, really well done.

Peep Show is extremely odd but good.

The original Top Gear is a guilty pleasure. Few things have made me laugh more.

Doc Martin is another good one (and currently on iView!).

Oh and holy shit I'd forgotten to mention my absolute favourite....Gogglebox. Not only is it ridiculously funny, it's actually one of the most powerful shows I've seen at times. The way they've dealt with some really topical discussions, particularly around same sex marriage and refugees really cuts through for me.

"I’ve got a to-do list here that’s longer than a fucking Leonard Cohen song"

Love the Thick of It. Brothers got me into it. So hilarious haha

Posted this with near certainty that you'd pop up saying that you loved the Thick of It. You're a good egg :D

If you're like me and you love sci fi, I certainly have quite a few recommendations (mostly on netflix).

The Expanse - This show was surprisingly good and depicts the challenges of living in space in a refreshingly realistic manner. While it's not perfect, it has a gripping story and compelling characters.

Westworld - Absolutely incredible show and I'm sure HBO are hoping this will replace Game of Thrones. A complex and poignant exploration of AI.

The 100 - At first glance it's easy to see this as the usual CW trash (not that the CW doesn't make entertaining shows), but it does bring some interesting ideas into the mix. Would recommend if you can handle another dystopian adventure about teenagers.

Black Mirror - A beautiful sci fi anthology show that sheds light on the darker side of technological evolution. Pretty much every episode is haunting.

3% - A fairly recent Brazilian Netflix show that again tries to take on the dystopian genre with adolescents, but executes it well and with an intriguing message about meritocracy.

There are probably quite a few more a can't recall at the current time but have enjoyed immensely, but I think that list encompasses all my recent favourites.

House of Cards: Yes, I know about the scandal right now. But the show is still great regardless of what you think of Spacey

The Cosby Show: Same as above. I've watched this whole series like 2 times now, but haven't gone to watch it a 3rd time due to reading taking over my life XD

Poirot: The TV show is great with David Suchet, I love his portrayal as the little Belgian detective Still salty about the Orient express episode though, that train director was IMO so poorly played. It ruined it and I can't see anyone doing a the novel justice. That new movie. Ugh. Don't get me started on that. >:(

Gintama: If your into pop-culture and you don't mind reading subtitles. I would highly recommend you watch this, it hits the "greatest" tag at ~100 episodes and beyond. That is when the show really nails its comedic timing (Some of those are zingers like are just perfect) and the characters are phenomenal as well. I don't think you should skip parts of it and just watch the whole thing because you just appreciate the show a hell lot more. I'm looking forward to the final arc, but so far enjoying the Slip arc :).

Mr Robot: If your like me and wanting hacking shows done well. This is the show for you. I would always shows this to people when they scoff at the things that can happen with poor IT security measures like being socially engineered (The season 1's episode dedicated to that is a masterclass at it and I love how they used actual methods professionals would use)

Psych: Just watch it. The movie is coming out soon after years of hinting at it. But seriously just watch it, it's great. It was a hit back when it come out. I still recall watching it on Channel 10 in ~2005-06 and also Monk.

Community: #sixseasonsandamovie, I will admit the season 4 really isn't great but I would stick with it. As I feel the series as whole is excellent and I love all the pop culture references and the characters as well. "Troy and Abed in the morning" ;)

Cowboy Bebop: A anime mixed with western style. A show about bounty hunters, love, gangs and overall chill vibes. "Gotta carry that weight" :(

Psycho Pass Season 1: Season 2 is a write-off, don't watch it, it doesn't add to this show at all and just plain terrible. I would just watch the okayish movie instead. This was the show that got me into a phase of "looking up dark things like books, shows, music, etc". This show will make you question the reliance of technology, but also the way of how justice can be enforced in the world. What do you do with a criminal who can't be tried by the justice system? => Is the best way to describe this show.

Naruto: Yes. I'm actually listing this down here. I know this show has many faults. I too agree with them all. But you have to admit when they nail the fighting scenes, they nail it well. If you can't stand the filler and all that dialogue or just read the manga already. I would just skip and watch the Chunin Exam arc. I have to this day never found a tournament arc done as well as Naruto has One could make an argument for Boku no Hero Academia though. But its impact isn't as big as when Naruto released their tournament arc Rock Lee vs Gaara never ceased to send chills down my spine on the epicness of it. The fluid animation and the excellent music choice really does this fight justice.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: If you mention anime you can't not mention this show. A show that will fuck you up. A show that has never not caused a huge uproar and debate. If you haven't seen this show I recommend you do. I would watch End of Evangelion as well. I mean you have heard the opening song by now so you may as well watch this show. Bring a friend along for the adventure as well. Your life will never be the same again after watching this show.

This is my mix of recommendations filled with a few recent hit shows, a guilty pleasures and shows that were overlooked.

'The Handmaid's Tale' (you can watch for free on SBS on Demand), easily the best new show of the year! As for returning shows - Stranger Things and GOT did not disappoint!  ;)

I said I'd go to Stranger Things next but I got distracted with Suits. I've nearly finished the first season and I'm really enjoying it! But the whole thing is founded on a lie and it makes me soooo anxious so I have to take breaks consistently lol

I actually really liked season 2 as a philosophical piece, moreso than season 1, and I reckon the villain was a bit more compelling and realistic. The writing for the season was nowhere near as good as 1, with a much better development and portrayal of every other character, but I still reckon it has its moments.

---

Tbh I don't think there's much I can really recommend that hasn't already been put up. But, if anyone here has YouTube red (and if you don't, it's really easy to get it for essentially-free [in the sense that it doesn't last forever like a subscription technically does, you will pay nothing] by promo codes if you give it a Google), wholly recommend:

-Lifeline (series in which there's a company that can see your death 33 days before it happens, and can prevent it for a price)
-Game Lab (MythBusters, but based on video games instead of urban legends)

Also random anime if anyone's nerdy enough to want the list. :P

Nah, the moments are not worth watching Season 2 regardless. I'm like the opposite on the villain comment there were too many loopholes with the villain in season 2. It was like they were trying to do Season 1 but in less episodes.

That being said I'm curious about your list. If your too embarrassed with your suggestions, you can always PM them to me 8).

Just finished the first season of The Crown the other day. Conflicted about it. All the characters are so detestable, which I find a little frustrating. I couldn't help but spend a lot of it wondering why we persist with a royal family, but that's another thing.

I also found Winston Churchill a bit hard to hack. The performance wasn't very convincing. I think they probably pushed too hard to highlight the personal flaws of Churchill, and in particular to underline the fact that his second PM'ship was largely a failure. Also, the actor was the same one who played Lord Farquaad sooooo....

Despite all this, the sets were absolutely gorgeous and the scenery amazing, which almost made up for it.
