Hey! AFAIK Dr. He mainly gets his students by word of mouth or referrals (typically in Asian circles, perhaps unfortunately).
Yes, he is based in Box Hill and you can find his information on the bettereducation website. (Or you can PM me).
In regards to his teaching style, I found it alright. He mainly teaches lessons while students take notes, and lessons conclude with a short-test of around 12 minutes. You get your test marked and returned each week, and you get rankings within the class based on that and end-of-term tests. Some people object to his avoidance of calculators (e.g. Hamo94), but my personal opinion is that this doesn't matter. In Dr. He's own words, "you don't pay someone to teach you how to use your TV remote control, so why would you pay people to teach you to use the calculator?", i.e. he regards that as students' own responsibility. I didn't mind it, and I don't think the majority of his students did.
One particularly refreshing thing about Dr. He is that he is probably one of the most genial and helpful tutors around, he is always available after classes (esp. if they are the last one in the day) to help with questions, advice (and even with UMEP Maths haha)
In regards to performance, yes, his classes are very high performing. In my personal opinion, this is probably due to his selection strategy (you need to have specific AMC results OR pass his own test, based on AMC questions) rather than exceptional teaching. But you do get to be in a very high-performing environment, which is the main reason I went in the first place
