HSC DRAMA Q&A THREAD

What is this thread for?
If you have general questions about the HSC Drama course or how to improve in certain areas, this is the place to ask! 👌

Who can/will answer questions?
Everyone is welcome to contribute; even if you're unsure of yourself, providing different perspectives is incredibly valuable.

Please don't be dissuaded by the fact that you haven't finished Year 12, or didn't score as highly as others, or your advice contradicts something else you've seen on this thread, or whatever; none of this disqualifies you from helping others. And if you're worried you do have some sort of misconception, put it out there and someone else can clarify and modify your understanding!

There'll be a whole bunch of other high-scoring students with their own wealths of wisdom to share with you. So you may even get multiple answers from different people offering their insights - very cool.

To ask a question or make a post, you will first need an ATAR Notes account. You probably already have one, but if you don't, it takes about four seconds to sign up - and completely free!

Heyo! So right now this section of AN is pretty dead but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be put off asking questions! I will not have studied every text and every topic but ask away anyway, and I'm sure you'll find the help you seek. IP, GP, theory, essays, anything!

Before you can ask a question, you'll have to make an ATAR Notes account here. Once you've done that, a little 'reply' button will come up when you're viewing threads, and you'll be able to ask and answer as many questions as you want.

Personally, I did Contemporary Australian theatre practice and studied "Stolen" and "Neighbourhood Watch" and Approaches to acting, in which I studied Augusto Boal and Jacques Lecoq. I also did performance for my IP.
Our other resident drama nerd is Sudodds who studied "Stolen", "Life without me" and Multidisiplinary theatre, completing a film for her IP.
Whilst this is where our expertise lies, do not be afraid to ask about other topics. Not only can our knowledge be adapted but also who know what other theatre kids will emerge.

So let's get this ball rolling hey!

Hey,
So my ip is due on Monday holy hell.
I'm basically done, I just have to finalise my referencing. Does anyone know the referencing requirements and if referencing/bibliography is counted as part of the word count?

I realise I’m too late to this question but didn’t want to leave you hanging. I would say no, it doesn’t. Hopefully you found the answer though and submitted a fab IP!!

Hey, thanks for the reply! My drama teacher told me it wasn't, and in the end I was within the word count with and without my referencing so it was all good!
