43+ in Geography

Hey guys,
I am in year 12 this year, and am just wondering what sort of workload and effort would I  need to put in throughout the year to achieve a study score of 43+ in Geography? My school last year had 2 scores of 40+ in a cohort size of ~18 people, and the year before had 4 scores over 40+ in a similar cohort size. What sort of tips do you have for me, in order to do well in geography?

Hi begirodos18,

I did Geography 1/2 but dropped it at the end of year 12. From experience of this tho, I’d say that it’s important to master the regular response formats/basics: SHEEPT, PQE, distributions etc etc. One of the most frustrating things with geo is that teachers usually hand out 9/10 or 4/5 just because - with little feedback given. If you’re aiming for a 43+ I’d say it’s quite important to speak to your teacher regularly to find things that you need to work on. As always there’ll always be an element of luck especially when it’s a subjective subject. Sometimes the questions mightn’t play to your strengths and sometimes they’re really good. I suppose communicating with your teacher will mean that you clarify any questions with regards to the study design to minimise the chance of being caught out during the exam.
