Hardest. SAC. Of my life. I asked around and nobody was able to come up with any conclusive answers on the Spesh SAC. In a way, I'm relieved that it wasn't just me, but for the SAC to be that hard is a bit ridiculous.

Status: Deflated

To make matters worse, they threw both part 1 and 2 of the SAC into a single day. Part 2 is in an hour. Wish me luck.

Edit: Part 2 was actually completely fine. A 60% would be a blessing tbh.

73 days until the English Exam. Is it irrational to be stressed right now? Because I'm completely stressed out. Last week I started feeling more exhausted as each day passed to the point where I didn't study for a day. I guess we all need to stop and take a break at one point, recharge and get back into it.

I had practice exams planned to do, but I realised my expectations were probably unrealistic for last week. Recharged, ready to go.

Edit: I haven't been getting the best marks on my SACS as of late, but I found that I've been consistently towards the top quarter of each of my subjects which is promising.

Ugh... I've been doing a lot of revision and practice lately leading up to the exams. Today marks 50 days until the English exam.
I've prepared myself an excel spreadsheet to track the work I've been doing over the past few weeks, but I'm becoming more afraid if I don't have enough time to prepare and improve as much as I'd like.

I'm consistently getting around 50% marks in my Maths and Chemistry exams that I've done and it's worrying me. To be fair, I haven't done that many, but if it persists over this next week I'm going to need to do a lot more than I am now...

I'm hoping to do the equivalent of around 2 exams a day... Doesn't seem too unrealistic? I'm not sure.

Edit 1: I might be going insane.

Very promising results. Dont worry, I haven't formally started exams as well (just a few questions here and there). I was like you - chose to take last weekend as an opportunity to 'do nothing' so that I can feel better prepared to smash out all of my exams and sacs. Just don't burn out. Please don't. And don't do more than 5 exams a day unless if you're willing to burn out! (Learnt this the hard way last year...)

Hey Ylsovr! I don't think i've ever commented on your journal but I have been a silent reader for a while (:
I would say 50% is really good around now, and theres nowhere to go but up, right? Try not to let it get to you because you're definitely ahead and doing well and should prevent burning out too early, so just do the amount that feels comfortable and is letting you make sustainable progress. I definitely haven't started exam preparation and a lot of people I know haven't or are starting to.
Have you finished all of your SACs? I have so many left to go but I wish I could finish now !!

Yes I've finished all my SACs! My school moves pretty quickly compared to other schools which is such a blessing, except when considering my first practice English exam is tomorrow already... I'm also really glad you've been reading and following through, and yes, you remind me about how important it is to pace myself!

5 exams a day last year... How even..? Regardless, I've definitely thought about it (and how unrealistic it is), but its an entertaining thought. Sometimes nearing the end of the week I feel those symptoms of fatigue, but I've lately been able to learn how to (almost) regularly balance my daily schedule. I still do procrastinate a lot more than I'd like to though.

Its been a bit over a week since I've last updated, but I've been able to improve quite a bit since last time. Specialist is still kicking me in the ass honestly, and I haven't moved on from non-CAS exams to CAS exams since I've been doing really poorly. Chemistry, Methods and Psychology seem to be just fine and I'm improving slowly.

Oh, I also did really well on my comparative SAC. (100% lol - I'm really surprised and proud of that!)
So I'm pretty hopeful in how much I can improve in the next coming weeks, except for Spesh. :(

I've also completely adjusted my schedule over the past week after finding out I'm a lot more productive in the morning. Lets hope the next few weeks only get better!

To put it simply, I've fallen back into a rut. As soon as the holidays started, I lost the willpower to maintain a proper routine which was really pushing my productivity. Not having to attend online classes really made me feel as if I had all the time in the world to achieve what I want, and yet I haven't even been completing my daily goals.

It's disappointing, but its not something to completely beat myself up over. Realistically, it's only the second day of week, and its entirely possible to bring it back together. Seriously though, my motivation levels have dropped real low. I have my 3rd English practice exam tomorrow too.

Hi Ylsovr, I've been lurking for a while now xd
You're right, it is only Tuesday today: nearly half of the holidays still remain! At this point in the year, I don't think anybody is a stranger to falling short of their whole 70-meter to-do list, and last week ultimately won't make you achieve any less. Three full English exams doesn't sound bad at all; in fact, many people I know have barely done a single paper, so you're definitely on track. It's no surprise that VCE wears us down sometimes, but keep things in perspective and know you're doing just fine!

Don't be too hard on yourself and keep smashing exam prep :)

Ylsovr!

Go flex your English scores go you!!! You should be so proud of yourself - I know I am! 🥳🥳🥳 Make sure you remember to exercise your English muscles every day so that you can have the grand opportunity to flex them at the English exam. In front of your mates and especially, the invigilators. Show em who's boss.
Motivation is over rated. I reckon if you're keeping a steady work ethic and making sure you catch up with your mate called 'rest' for AT LEAST an hour every day, you'll avoid the enemy called 'burnout'. If you're not riding the waves of motivation, run on the road of discipline instead!

Hoping to see more amazing scores soon 🤠🤠🤠🤠

Thank you for the reply! I'm always happy to see people even lurking around, coming to their eventual reply and input, its really valuable to me. What you've said is really reassuring and promising, coming from a student like you.

Ah right, it's discipline over motivation isn't it? Fascinating. This has actually stuck with me for the past while after reading what you've said, and ironically has lead me to doing more revision. Now is that motivation, discipline, or a mix of both?

11/10/21
I've kind of forgotten how I format my own replies, oh well.
Hello once again, I've returned from my grave, bed, house, hellhole, whatever it is. With school resuming and with 2 hour total travel time, I've lost many hours that I could've instead used to study my content or do an exam. Frustrating.

But as easy as it is to get lost into the routine and trap of doing exams on end, I've forgotten how important it is to not just do exams, but revise, and also interact with my peers for possibly the last few times of my life; Supposedly my recent results have been promising according to my teachers, so I've toned it down a little and given myself a little more time to do what I want, productively.

Thank you all for reading this, our English exam rapidly approaches just over 2 weeks. I wish everyone best of luck in their revision and studies, you'll be hearing more from me soon.

Sorry for not directly replying to you guys, I just don't have the energy to really go through that right now, but...
IT WENT WELL! (for the most part), and thank you for your messages. They really helped me out the night before and morning of.
My essays I felt were really well done, I finished all of them down to the conclusion, but for part C, I foolishly forgot to include the 2 images... I think I'll be fine regardless though. I don't need to write an english essay ever again now. It feels freeing.
