High school leadership

Currently in year 10 - and I’ve done leadership every year since yr 7

Recently though, I have started to doubt whether to do leadership during VCE and went against it

Just curious, is anyone willing to share their experiences/regrets of taking up a leadership position in high school

(Also, did you mention leadership in your job resume ;))

During VCE at various points I:

- was vice school captain
- was youth mayor of the local youth council
- was unit chairman of the local venturer scout uni

I have no regrets about doing leadership in high school and it positively impacted my course entry.

I absolutely put leadership stuff in my resume :)

soft skills like communication and team work are very important so it's great to be able to show that you've been in environments where you've heavily practiced that + showing engagement in the community. My high school leadership stuff is getting less focused on in my resume as time goes on but especially if you don't have much (or any) work experience it's good to have leadership roles in there.
