QCE Stuff?

Hello everyone!

I am a new member to the AN community and I'm from Queensland. I've noticed that there are sections for HSC, VCE, SACE and so on but there is none for us Queenslanders! It may be because Queensland is on the OP system, but that has changed. My year level (2019 year 11's) will be the first to do the ATAR in QLD  :-\. If I'm wrong, please tell me, but I feel I have searched quite a bit around here, to no prevail.
So, what do you guys think? Any of you wandering the same thing? Surely for us up here can have our section too, right?

(I don't really know if I'm suggesting this right because I'm new, but if I am can anyone of you more experienced ones maybe do this properly?)
Anyway, hopefully the managers of AN sees this.
Thank you!

We can’t do that because Queensland doesn’t use the ATAR and that would be against the forum’s theme.

I joke :P
2018: ATAR: 99.35
Subjects
English: 44
Methods: 43
Further Maths: 50
Chemistry: 46
Legal: 40
2019: Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine @ Monash

Hi Lear,

I don't know if you read all of my post, but QLD has changed and is using the ATAR system from year 11's this year( me) onward. I'm also a little confused by what you mean, "I joke". Do you mean to say you were just kidding about your first sentence?

@Twisty I think Lear's whole post was just meant to be a friendly joke really

I agree that ATARNotes needs a QCE section!
How are you feeling about being the first year level in Qld to get an ATAR?

Edit: actually, I think if you get an OP (say in 2018) you can ask for it to be converted to an atar for interstate applications

Hi Bucket Hat,
I didn't intend to come across rude at all to Lear, I was just a little confused about what Lear was trying to communicate. So, apologies to Lear; it was never my intention to be hostile to anyone.  :)

Well, personally, I would definitely prefer to receive an ATAR than an OP, mainly because it gives you a more concise indication of how you went. But regarding how I feel about being the 'guinea pig' year, it's sought of scary, particularly because I don't know what I should be expecting. Some people here have explained a little about the ATAR as they're outside QLD, which has helped though. If you're in QLD, how are you feeling about the new system, and what subjects are you doing?

Nah I'm sure it's all good with Lear  ;D

I'm not from Qld (just graduated from Vic). But I think you're all in a similar position as the 'trial' year so as long as you can just give it your best shot it should be fine :) Does this new ranking system come with a new curriculum for each subject?

Yes, I believe the new ATAR system does cause slightly new curriculum for all current subjects - a lot of the subjects names have changed (Mathematics B is now Mathematical Methods) but similar content. There are actually a bunch of completely new subjects being introduced to QLD which is good. But back to my original post, do you think there will be a 'QCE Stuff' section any time soon?

There's actually one already, but it's currently hidden. I'll make it visible and set it up properly this week. :)
