WEEK 4 TERM 2

Hello everyone!
Well this just a bit of an update on my current school life

Psychology 3/4
Had a SAC on learning, which I spent hours preparing for. . . .
Unfortunately a couple of days leading up to the SAC I got a nasty cold/virus which basically left me paralysed in bed for two days . . .
and when the SAC came around I wasn't feeling 100% but I gave it a good shot . . .

Hey Ionic Doc or Carol?? pretty sure I read that somewhere lol!  Been enjoying reading your high school journey! And yikes, this EXACT situation happened to me in Psych too last year... Sucks a whole lot when you put in every ounce of effort and then you get sick and you're not feeling your best when you do it, BUT know you did the best you possibly could and that is enough. If this is your first SAC and you studied really hard anyway, don't fret too much, it's not your fault you got sick, just use it as motivation for all your upcoming sacs. One sac will not jeopardise it all.

We had a student teacher last year in Methods, and since our Methods teacher was let's just say not the most pleasant or greatest teacher (no matter how much we tried), it was so refreshing to have her and it's a great experience. Good to hear you always follow up with anything that you're still unsure of. Do you know where you went wrong in Methods? Best thing is to not get too hung up on the score and figure out where you need to improve and turn the emotions into fuel to do better in the future.

although I don't know if it was directed towards me or someone next to me idk.

Lol the actual feels. My life story hahaha. But all the best. Enjoyed that update very much. Hope your english sac goes as you hoped!

Thought I would just update this before the 'hellish' weeks to come . . .

Well mid - year exams are creeping, bout a week away.
My exams are all squashed together, starting of with specialist and English on Monday, followed be religion and society and Methods on Tuesday

No year 12 exams for psych I think . . . although I have a SAC right in the middle of exam week . . . couldn't be better timing, although it's some research/poster SAC on memory. I have a lot to catch up on Psych, been completely neglecting that for a week or so . ..  and I wanna really ace this next SAC so I can bring my average up finishing on 90% for Unit 3.

After the Psychology SAC, I have the GAT. Honestly shouldn't be too bad. Some of the  Year 12's were winging like 2 year olds when the teachers were introducing the process of the GAT and how the day will run out. . . gave me NAPLAN vibes. . .

Then on the last day of exams get to finish up on chemistry . . . so will get plenty revision for that.

Also handed in my subject - change form, so hopefully I get approved to either HHD or Bio, ( no more spec soon YAY  ;D)

well that's about it/ grind out these exams than can get some rest after. Eat. Work. Play  :P

Speedy work on the signature update. ;D
While we’re on the topic of your signature, I noticed that you also changed your dream career from med or law to ER Physician. Asking this out of pure curiosity, why that specifically and what made you make that jump?

Completely missed this post, but congrats on your Psych score!!! I'm glad your hard work paid off. Also keep asking questions!! It helps both of us as answering questions helps me consolidate my knowledge better, while also helping you with terminology/info that you don't know :). Good luck on your EPI (and GAT).

Ha, thanks
Yes I'm super  excited for bio !
Should've picked it at the start of the year but anyways, the subjects that I want to undertake at uni are related to bio immensely so this is pretty much giving me an introductory to what I'll study in the future. Praying that I like bio now ( loved it in year 10 )

While we’re on the topic of your signature, I noticed that you also changed your dream career from med or law to ER Physician. Asking this out of pure curiosity, why that specifically and what made you make that jump?
Well to be honest my view on life.
I cant see myself being a lawyer in the future as I realised that I'm not suited for that area and field.
That leaves me with medicine, but what specifically in medicine?

ER Physician

This is because the thought of a new case/scenario coming through the doors makes the job seem so stimulating. Yes I have heard that ER physicians need to be able to cope with stress and  failures (from a family friend who is an ER physician)
At the end of the day, someones life is in your hands. Thats a big thing. but I genuinely find that interesting and appealing. My second preference would be to become a paediatrician, mainly because I think I wound't mind working with children and that I genuinely am a kind/caring person.

However I have decided to remove my dream job 'spoiler' for now. Because my main focus is to get a godly ATAR and get into med school. Once I get again, then I can give some thought to that.

Hey NoMo F

Thnx for your help
and yes there will be more question to come (on memory) any day now, so be ready   :)

See ya round the forums  :D

Hey :)

I didn't see your earlier post until recently but congrats on your psych score!!
(& you're absolutely welcome for the feedback)

Good luck with bio - bio links very nicely with chem & psych so hopefully that gives you a bit of a boost :)

Hello everyone!

Hope everyones warm and warm . . .  because it is so cold  :'(

well just another mundane update, nothin special

just finished 4 exams in 2 days. . . somehow made it through . . . anyways

My English exam was bit above average as my language analysis was detailed however my text response seemed quite low of standard.
R and S  exam was pretty easy, nothing insane.
Spec was pretty much a complete waste of time, as I'm dropping the subject . .  . hopefully I pass (yeet)
Methods I spend hours on end studying for. Legit. But right now im low-key depressed as I think I screwed up big time. Finishing the exam everyone was also expressing how they found that difficult but idk. You know when people are like ' im so gonna fail' and then come out with a 90+. tf  >:(

besides that
My head is hurting a bit and my eyes do keep on shutting ( lack of sleep ) but other than that, life has been pretty chill. now I got a week and a bit at home to prepare for my chem exam. Wish I'm looking forward to smashing ! ( mainly because it's one of the subjects I love)

I also saved a kids life the other day while he was crossing the road. The dummy was looking at his phone while crossing the road ( death wish I know ) luckily I pulled his bag and yanked him back seconds before the car passed. The thing is his sister who was directly beside him saw the car coming and didn't tell him, ( which is why I pulled him back ). seriously step in reality for a second kid.

Well there's my weekly update, now I gotta go back to studying for this psych sac tomorrow. . .  :(

peace ✌️

Date  - 18th of June 2019

Hey everyone,

thought I might add an entry in seeing I have ample of spare time now.

It's been a busy few weeks, filled mainly with SACS and mid - year exams. Probably one of the most tiring weeks of my life ( besides year 9 camp) especially due to the fact that all my exams ( except chemistry) were crammed into a period of 2 days  :P

I have received a few of my results back from the exams, and I'm happy to say that I've done alright. The results also reflect my work, except for methods which I spent ages studying for and got a 40% ( bit gutted bout that). Hopefully I can change that to a 75 - 80% by end of year exams.

Unit 2 has officially begun ( at my school at least) and all my subjects seem even more interesting than unit 1. Especially chem. I've also started bio, but straight of the bat have been thrown into a research investigation which is due by the end of next week  so Ima #yeet dat.

Literally this year has flown,
I feel like ever since VCE has started 'time' has gotten faster, hopefully it slows down someday. Not to long till my Psych exam at the end of the year and I'm beginning  to start preparing for that right now! Year 12 is also soo close, and I cant wait!

I've also briefly started to prepare for the UCAT. I feel as if there are some parts in which I struggle in, abstract reasoning and quantitative reasoning and it's better to start early and devote more time to them.

Honestly, I cant wait for holidays, I partially feel burnt out and need to rejuvenate. 2 weeks of sleeping in , revision + lectures, skateboarding and playing with the dog sounds fun to me. Oh yeah and I can finally write up that AN article.

Besides that everything else is good, except the weather ( I hate winter ) but I should be able to manage  ;)
Thnx for reading

See yas next time ✌️
