2019 JMSS program
Expression of interest:
Knowing the struggle of preparing for the JMSS selective entry process first-hand, following the initiation of the 2019, myself and a colleague will be opening a series of classes held weekly to prepare prospective students for their JMSS entrance exam.
Both my colleague and I have extensive tutoring experience over the past 3 years, in particular with JMSS preparation. Previously our lessons have been held privately, but starting next year, we are excited to announce we will be opening a class!
Our class will cover the requirements for the entrance exam - including a series of 8 theory classes (overall 8 hours of Mathematics and 8 hours of Science), accompanied by 5 lessons of practical exams - written by us which will closely mirror what is expected on the exam as we write and alter our exams accordingly to the feedback of our students - this makes a total of 13 lessons (13 weeks) and is expected to run from February through to late April/early May.
After the conclusion of the classes, we will hold a series of complementary classes, which includes one revision class and 2 weeks of individual feedback, giving our students 1-2 weeks break before their JMSS entrance exam.
Classes will only be taught by JMSS alumni or current students, and are held in small numbers to ensure close attention is provided for each student - hence spots are strictly limited. This is our first year of opening a class so we would like to experiment with the number of students, but we are looking at no more than 10 students per class.
Additionally, unlike other preparative tuition courses, we also provide interview-stage guidance and mock interviews, which is often a neglected but integral attribute of the JMSS selection process that is a key to the acceptance of applicants! The interview process will allow students to be directly involved with current JMSS students to obtain the most accurate and helpful information, as well as engaging students in an environment which would best reflect the actual JMSS interview.

Theory: 2.25 hours - $50
