Single degree vs Double degree....please help o.O

Hi everyone,
I am interested in doing mechatronics more specifically at RMIT. I have just looked at the website for the single degree and the degree is recognized by engineers australia etc. However the double degree for mechatronics and international business isn't recognized yet. I am presuming because it is a new course however it has made me a little reluctant to put it down as my first preference as I want to be recognized as an engineer when I finish my degree. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions as to what I should do?
Thanks in advance!

If by "not recognised" they mean "not accredited", I wouldn't be taking the double degree. IMO If you're not an accredited engineer and can't do work, what's the point of being an 'engineer'? You've just wasted a lot of money.

Wow! Unbelievable that they would still offer it even if it isn't accredited. It is likely that EA will accredit the degree in the future,  but as for now I'd suggest not enrolling into it and considering enrolling into maybe the single degree and then transferring later?

Spoiler
Professional recognition and accreditation
This program does not yet have accreditation by Engineers Australia. Accreditation will be sought for this program as soon as it is feasible to do so within the accreditation time lines set by Engineers Australia. Once it is fully accredited, graduates of the program will be eligible for graduate membership of Engineers Australia.

Yeah I'm thinking of just choosing the single degree for now and then perhaps transferring later if it gets accredited, as I agree that there isn't any point in completing a degree that won't give me the accreditations I need. I have emailed a few people from RMIT to ask them why this is the case so I'm hoping they get back to me in time for me to have all my preferences wisely chosen  :P
