Poll

Do you think artistic expression is a good way to let off steam?

Heck yeah - I'm in for this!
Nah, I'm good.
I'd love to, but I have no time. :,(

Um hiiii, I'm fairly new to ATAR Notes but I just stumbled across this thread and I hope it's ok if I bump it!

This isn't a proper piece of 'artwork' but I drew it while on a flight to Spain during the term 1 holidays! It's just some very stereotypical pieces of Spanish culture, with the Spanish flag as the background.

For those who are wondering, they're the logo of the Seville Football Club, castanets (Spanish percussion instrument), a pith helmet from the Spanish colonial era, Iberian ham, and also (very self explanatory but) a bull and wine.

Hi there! Absolutely fine to bump this - in fact, it's something I need to do myself.  :-[

Looks great! Do you enjoy studying history? The pith helmet is an interesting choice but I like it a lot. Thanks for sharing!

Now that I've been upstaged by the better artist, its about time to make a new topic! Sorry for the hiatus, all - life does that sometimes.

I think our new topic might be a specific emotion. Any emotion. All you have to do is choose which emotion you want to convey and, well, convey it. Happiness, melancholy, exhaustion, awe, the world is your oyster this time.

I'll be giving you beautiful people a good chunk of time, perhaps till the end of the month? Just until we can get the ball rolling again.

Have fun creating!

I might not know how to draw the ocean, the sky, cliffs, or plants but I'm going to be content with my attempts

Thanks for the topic Poet - it's a good exam-time one :)

Here is what I did for this topic. Particularly happy that I survived unit 3 for my 3/4 subjects and I think sunflowers best represent my current mood ;D

Is surprise an emotion? Hahaha.

Here's a little something:
I jumped
From earth
Today.
Put my hands
In the air
And
Touched the sky.
I felt the
Clouds today
But they were
Full of lies.

2 days to go of this topic! If any of you want to add your own twist, you're more than welcome. 😍

Emotions of confusion and loss, but also welcoming warmth haha

I've started a new job and I was kind of thrown into a busy environment with tight deadlines and a bunch of students who won't listen to me a couple of months ago. At first it was all a bit of a panic - I had no training, the files were a mess and communication was lacking in the extreme. I've been working on improving things since then and while it's still very busy and full of surprises, I've found that I've been welcomed by my coworkers into a job I never thought I'd have. This image kind of reflects how, although I may be out of my depth, I've still been embraced by the community.
Kind of like AN embraced me when I first found y'all.

(there's a moon in the sky, bow bow,
it's called the moon, bow bow)

Anything related to the moon, any kind of moon (BUUUTTT no explicit content PLS (hehe good joke)) you do you boo, the moon just gotta be somewhere in there.

This topic is running till the 15th of July. Can't wait to see more pretty works!
(from pretty people ^-^) 💙

Just wanted to point out that the moon has a very significant anniversary on 20 - 21 July, even if it's outside the submission window...
And while I'm here, a few weeks ago at Cardinia Reservoir I got what was probably the first decent photos I've ever got of the moon. Not sure it counts, though, because it predates the challenge.

Also, did anyone see Museum of the Moon when it was at Scienceworks earlier this year?  It was incredible (7 metres high!), as are some of the pictures on its website.

M O O N
The stars loved
The moon so much.
They shone for her
Till they died.
But they never
Told the moon
That she was
The second choice.
They loved the sun
Enough
To let her drown
Them out.
