Just finished up, overall better than expected except for matrices module. Q8 of matrices is being debated by many students some saying 85 and others saying 25 planes  :-[ . How did you guys fair?

25 is the number of planes in Sydney only, 85 is number of planes total, so answer was 85.

How did you work out the total planes from the amount in Sydney. I ended up guessing 25 and moving on  :'(.

12 moved from Sydney to Melbourne, which was 0.48 of the planes in Sydney, so there were 12/0.48=25 planes in Sydney.

As amount of planes in Sydney has to stay the same, 12 planes moved from Melbourne to Sydney, which was 0.2 of the planes in Melbourne, so there were 12/0.2 = 60 planes in Melbourne.

Hope that was clear!

Hey guys
For the geometry question 3, did you guys use 3pir^2 or 2pir^2 to get the total surface area of the hemisphere?

Yeah I understand now, feel bad that I already lost that mark  :'(.
