Hey guys!
I may not know what I'm doing with my life but I love creating things and love the idea of this board! So I'm probs gonna experiment with and show off a variety of creations with different mediums in this thread.

The first shall be the voice over script to a film I'm working on. It's still a draft and some sections seem clunky and need to be fixed but I'll post it in this premature stage cause
A. I can get feedback from you guys
B. It shows that behind every artwork there's a whole lot of work, trial and error

So here it goes;

To. Be. Honest.
What is honesty?
In a world full of
fake friends,
fake news
and fake truths,
How do we know what is real?
The lies,
They cover up the reality
To persuade
To heal
To remove the blame
To create evil
To achieve some sort of personal gain
To move that one step ahead of the game
To prevent the hurt of painful truths
Honesty.
It has the power to make people cry,
But it's better than gifting a lie
To make someone smile
The lie sits in your heart like a stone.
And when uncovered,
does more damage than it ever prevented.

Everybody wants the truth,
But nobody what's to be honest.
For honesty, true, pure honesty,
Holds a power that very few people can handle
It can be both ugly,
and beautiful.

Honesty.
They say honesty is the best policy
But it is not an excuse to create evil
The horrible thoughts we have in our heads don't need to be revealed
But wouldn't it be better if they didn't exist,
So there's nothing to be concealed

We must be honest with others
And true to ourselves
Because pretending to be someone else
It's not only deceiving others,
It's deceiving yourself
And from this truth comes freedom.
The freest person in the world is the one who has nothing to hide
And isn't this freedom what we all want
Deep down on the inside?

In a world where lying becomes a necessary skill
We put on a mask to fit in
To pretend that everything is ok
Even when we are dying on the inside
To present the ideal image of ourselves
because we are scared of judgement
To hide parts of ourselves
Just so we don't receive the hate
We all do it.

Honesty,
It's a weapon.
A weapon we must use carefully, yet more often
To reveal knowledge
To express to good we see in each other
To spread the vast amounts of love that can overcome the seeds of hate
And outweigh the negatives in life
To spark empathy and understanding
To expose the sinister aspects of the world
And above all
To show that we are human.
Imperfect, flawed, beautiful humans.

So when the next time comes that you are faced with the decision
Between presenting the truth or a fantasy,
Be brave.
After all, the greatest advantage of speaking the truth is
You don't have to remember what you said

And I promise you,
The world will be a much better place
With the truths in our head

Gatsby's friend nick was conscious
Of wanting to look squarely at everyone
And yet avoid all eyes
Because everyone wants the truth.
But nobody wants to be honest.
We live in a world where lying has become a nessecary skill
We put on a mask to fit in.
We pretend that everything is ok,
Even when it really isn't.
We present the ideal images of ourselves to the world
And hide our most unattractive qualities
Because we're scared.
Scared of judgment
Of hate
Of not living up to the expectations
But,
We must be honest with others and true to ourselves,
Because pretending to be someone else is not only deceiving others
It's deceiving yourself.

But that's not an excuse to become disrespectful
To put down fellow humans
And be hateful.
You gotta say what you mean
In a way that isn't mean
Cause as Lilly said, there's always a way to be open and honest
Whilst also being respectful
And anyone who behaves otherwise is just lazy.
and the people who go about their day treating opinion like facts
Should just be ignored
Cause you're smarter than that.

so say what you mean.
Because the freest man alive
Is he who has nothing to hide
Yes. The truth can be a dangerous weapon
One that should be wielded more often
So when the time next comes to present either truth or a fantasy,
Lie or reality,
Honesty.
Honesty really is the best policy.

Just thought I'd change the name of this thread so it's not the same as my uni journey journal   
BUT
More importantly....

I am a REEL voices finalist!!
So, I submitted this film for a competition in which if I am a finalist I get acsess to personal coaching and other info to improve my filmmaking and be in the running to win some cool prizes that allow for media exposure and industry connections to be formed. And guess what? I am one of those finalists!! One of seven in fact!

Now I have to create at least 2 more films on some different topics to show my creative range and hopefully win a 3rd, 2nd, or 1st prize at the awards ceremony, in which they will show my work on the Vmax sceen in Bondi.

I've also got to finish my honesty film in 10 days, so thank goodness I've not started Uni yet cause I've got a lot of work to do. Arrgh, the 16th of February is too close!

With writing it's hard to say cause I wrote little bits and pieces over a few months, filming took 1.5 days and editing took just a bit over 3 days.

So the film posted above, well it got into the finals!! This involves a film festival with red carpets, interveiws and stuff and a people's choice voting category.
