All the best to everybody receiving results this morning. Sounds like some received a nice little surprise with an early email.

Feel free to post your results here!

2018:
Biology: 35

2019:
English: 35
Chemistry: 30
Further: 40
Enviro: 43
Methods: 31

ATAR: 89.65

I'm pretty surprised about English. Thought I did way better, but oh well. Still got above the ATAR I needed, so I'm happy!

I wrote this on another thread but I think it belongs here too:

Hey all, just letting you know that if you didn't reach your predictions or feel disappointed with your results, it's perfectly fine to process that as grief and it's not mandatory to share that if you don't want to here. Whatever the case, ATAR Notes tends to blow scores out of proportion - there are a lot of high-achievers here - so if you don't feel like you did well enough because you didn't get a 40 in something, remind yourself that the work is over and you did the best you could. The amount of effort and time you put in cannot be quantified by a final number, and you're worth a lot more than that.

If you're upset and have no one to talk to, please contact moderators or admins. We're here to support you whether you're elated or disappointed. 💙🌻

74.45 atar, it's alright enough I suppose... Somehow did a lot better for maths methods/physics than I expected (22/23 raw ss which is still shit but at least not below 20s) but damn my English/Literature scores.. I was expecting raw 35 mininum...

Hey, don't worry about it friend! Monash Med only lists English (35) and Chem (30) as prerequisites and not Bio. Plus, there's the UCAT which is as important as your VCE for undergrad Med. So there's always a chance and plenty of time from here on to figure out what went wrong and how to smash the rest of VCE!

---

I'm proud of everyone here! Well done on surviving VCE, year 12's. I hope we can all rest well now.

Bio: B/B+/B 32
English: A/A+/B+ 36
Further: B+/B/B+ 33
HHD: A/B+/B+ 34
Psych: B+/A+/B+ 35 (2018)
ATAR: 77.4

I'm really disappointed with bio, considering I did like 20 practice exams (went from an average of low 60% to low 90%) and when I went through the exam with my teacher (she also had the ATAR notes solution) I lost a max of 30 marks. I'm also really upset with English as all of my practice exams were a high A-A+, but I knew that I stuffed up my exam walking out of it.

My ATAR is around the range I was predicting, so I'm not surprised, I'm just more disappointed that I didn't do better. Even though I didn't get a score I wanted, I am still able to get into my course.

For everyone who didn't get what they wanted/needed, it is ok to be upset over it. Just keep in mind that these results do not determine where you are going to end up in life, these results only matter for 15 minutes. Everything will work out if you put in the effort to ensure that it works out.

Good job class of 2019!!

I have several mixed emotions now, but mostly I’m pretty content with my overall result!

English: 43
Holy, I was SUPER happy with this!!! English gave me so much grief the entire year and I have never cried so much for a subject, so I’m thankful it paid off.

Methods: 24
To be honest, I kind of expected this but I’m annoyed that I was 1 mark off getting 25, so now Biomed’s not an option for me anymore :/

Chemistry: 33
I was really disappointed about this - I was so sure Chem was going to be my highest score, and I did relatively well all year round, except I bombed the exam in terms of timing. I just didn’t think I would bomb it this much :(

Psychology: 33
I’m still confused how I got the same score for Psych and Chem when I put so much work into Chem and did virtually nothing for Psych all year round, and studied for the exam 1 hour prior to the actual examination, but I guess I’m pretty content with this?

ATAR: 96.5
It was around what I expected, so I’m pretty happy with this! Thank god for Bio and my LOTE last year, it literally carried my ATAR (along with English). The only thing I need to sort are my preferences because of Biomed, but otherwise it seems I have quite a bit of flexibility in terms of courses!

I really hope everyone is proud of their hard work, regardless of scores!

Holy Christ I am so fking thrilled!! I did not expect this at all!!

English - 50 (‼️I am so shocked but also so confused how did I get this??)
Global Politics - 46 (unbelievable!)
Methods - 41 (again, how?? I’m not a maths person at all)
Chinese - 36
Russian - 35

Final ATAR was a 99.4 — I am in shock!! My prediction had been 96 lmaoooo.

Kind of disappointed with my LOTE scores though (also surprised I did better in Chinese than Russian). I was hoping high 30s to even low 40s in both.

Overall, very, very happy I got these scores not just for myself but for my school. Also another student got 40+ in English at my school — I’m really hoping our rannking shoots up this year.

hi guys!

I just want to say, I'm so proud of everyone on here. You all did so well. ❤️❤️❤️

So today, I didn't feel anything. I legit, slept in until 7:30 and waited until 8:30 to open up the results. But during my sleep, I dreamt I got a 94 ATAR. Anyway, my heart was pounding so hard, I clicked the 'view ATAR' button and I couldn't look at it so I showed it to my mum to read it. Her eyes widened and she was like 'wow' and that was a good sign.

Has anyone's study score ever been messed up by VCAA? I got a 41 in Further, but I only lost one mark on E1, and a MAXIMUM of five on E2, so I'm a tad confused. I was rank one and my SACs were all 95+, so I'm a tad confused.

There have been cases where VCAA has messed up. You can get a statement of marks from VCAA and contest your result if you’re unsatisfied with the result.

if you are really sure you only dropped 6 marks + rank 1 I would get it checked - that should yield a study score of 44.

VCAA does make mistakes so they will fix it if they have - in the past I know people have had study scores changed due to incorrect input of sac marks, not marking pages of the exam.

English: 44
I was so surprised to see this, I was honestly just hoping for a 40. My whole grade did surprisingly well this year for English. Honestly really excited about this one as I did next to no work the whole year then just pumped it out two weeks before the exam.

Algorithmics: 37
I was disappointed with this mark, but it was a bloody hard exam and I had a rubbish experience with the subject so it is what it is. The pleasant irony is that because I did well enough in my other subjects and I had a UMEP and Language VET, it didn't even count towards my ATAR!

Specialist: 42
I would have liked to have done better in Spec, but knew after my exam 2 I'd dropped a few too many in it. But I think it works out to be something like top 350 or so in the state, so can't complain about that!

UMEP Maths: 85 Semester 1, 88 Semester 2 --> 4.5
I enjoyed this the most out of all subjects, and definitely gained the most compared to VCE. I scored 99% for my assignment average and equal first in state for Semester 2. Stacks of hard work went into it, and I'm glad it all paid off.

ATAR: 99.50
I'm satisfied with this result. Only needed an 85 to get into Science, so thats clear for one :). What helped me gain perspective on it is that it's roughly equivalent to top 250 kids, which when put in that perspective does seem surreal.

Hoping everyone is happy, or at least satisfied, with their mark.

Elated that its finally over, English was so unexpected but I'm slightly disappointed with chem. Didnt finish at least 15 marks in the exam and can't help but wonder if that elusive 99+ was possible had I finished that exam. Got a call for a 10K scholarship tho, all's well that ends well. Remember if you are disappointed with results there are always pathways to get into your dream course.

Congratulations everybody :) No matter whether you got a score below, at or above what you wanted, you should be immensely proud of yourselves for getting through your final year of schooling! It's something that gets repeated to death, but your ATAR does not define you and is just one of the many keys that will get you through the door into your next chapter of study (if you choose to pursue higher education)!

Like has been said, if you're struggling to deal with things at the moment, please get in contact with a mod or admin and we can point you in the direction of help.

Repost, kind of, from the prediction page, but boy am I stoked about my ATAR!!  :o  There are some niggling disappointments with some of my SS, but one bad point shouldn't dissuade from my mood of wooOoOoOOoOO
BUT, it's not as good as some of the other kids here, because wow are they mind-boggling!

So, question ! I'm really conflicted over my SS for Japanese SL, since I got A+ in exam, and had mid 90s for my SACs. Even so, despite the mid 90s SACs, I got C+ and B+ for the GA 1 and 2 respectively. I was wondering if it's even worth contacting VCAA regarding this, considering my cohort for Japanese SL is unfortunately quite weak..  :'(

Hey I’m a year 11 student and I got a study score of 41 for Health and Human Development from VTAC. Is this my scaled score or raw score? And if so, what will it be scaled to??

It's a raw score. It'll be scaled according to this year, but VTAC will only report the scaled mark to you next year. You can always ask someone who got a 41 in the Year 12 cohort what it scaled to, and yours will be the same. Also look at the 2019 Scaling Report to get an indication

Good job man i got the same. Do you know what % of the cohort we are?

No idea (0.2% or something?). Haha we are doing exactly the same subjects.

That is your raw score. It would be scaled to about 38.2. (Estimation based on the VTAC Scaling Report.)

English: 43
Chemistry: 44
Italian: 44
Business Management: 41
Methods: 37

ATAR: 97.65

Very disappointed with my methods results, I choked so badly on exam 1 and made so many dumb mistakes on both exams. Ah well. Still happy with all the others!

I managed a 37 in Methods  ;D

I'm actually genuinely happy considering its one of my weaker subjects! I'm only disppointed as I think my SAC marks went down a little lower than I was expecting.

Does anyone know what this will scale too?

I got a 35 in Software Dev,
was wishing to get a 40 but with the same kind of hope that you have of winning the lottery (it would be nice but I wasn't realistically expecting it).
tbh I was expecting to get lower like around 30 so im Happy

hey, I'm not sure what path you intend on taking but you might want to check this course out https://www.monash.edu/study/courses/find-a-course/2020/medical-science-and-medicine-m6011#entry-requirements-2 I know it's not biomed but if you intended on doing Doctor of Medicine further down the track, this course might be of interest to you!

Got a 35 for Methods!!! Super happy with that considering Methods was the biggest pain in the neck and my weakest subject. Does anyone (esp. a year 12 who got the same score) know what this would scale up to? And whatever that is, would that be the same for me? Thank you and congrats to everyone no matter your score for going through the trauma of 3/4 subjects, you made it!

Hope everyone did well - I for one, am quite surprised with my results!

Biology                                        A+   A+   A+   50
Chemistry                                   A+   A+   A+   41
English                                        A+   A+   A+   46
Languages: Latin                        A+   A+   A+   45
Maths: Mathematical Methods   A+   A+   A+   48
Maths: Specialist Mathematics   A+   A   A+   41

This is it. This is a god right here.
I'm doing almost the same subjects, just Lang instead of normal English and uh wow?? I can only hope to do anywhere near as well as this. (Especially that 45 in Latin jfc). Got a 50 in bio and a 44 in methods this year so I'm just gonna try my best and barrel through next year.

Saving this for inspiration.

Does anyone know the cost of a Statement of Marks? I found some evidence pointing toward $10.50, but on the 2019 order form, it only refers to the fee associated with the purchase of an Inspection of Examination Materials ($24.95), and there's no option to purchase the statement (screenshot attached below because I'm terrible at explaining things - see step 5). Really quite confused, so if anyone can provide some clarification, that would be fab!!!!

Right?! I read on the resultsandatar site that there's a $10.50 fee for the statement, but that's nowhere to be seen on the order form!! Do you think that they're not charging anymore??

I don’t know, it doesn’t seem very likely (although I don’t think they should be charging for any of it) but they also didn’t used to have the option of receiving it via email so clearly some things have changed. Do they have a number you can call to ask?

That's true - perhaps they've realised how ludicrous it is to charge students for such. I might call the PRAS number tomorrow. I'll post on here again when I get some clarification! :))

Going from the fact that they only mention the cost for the Examination of Response Materials, and they are doing email now, it does seem more likely that they aren’t charging. https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vce/results/StatMarkInspReturnForm.pdf

You can do that, but I’d recommend using a scanning app rather than a photo so it comes out clearer. Alternatively, you can use this link to fill out the application digitally: https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vce/results/StatMarkInspReturnForm.pdf

If I remember correctly, last year it might’ve been 2-3 weeks by post. But this year they’re offering it via email so it might be significantly faster. (Assuming they don’t get inundated with requests as it’s now free :)

Wait what??

Okay just to confirm:

I can see the individual marks I received for each GA - so like what I got out of 40/80 for each exam?? (Methods)

And I can see the marking scheme for each question - i.e. so what I got for each individual question?

And its all free? So do I just scan the application and send it to them?

Thanks  ;D

I believe so. I've only just submitted my application a couple days ago and I haven't yet received any response but I assume so considering the form doesn't state a price (only 'inspections of examination response materials' is listed at $24.95 each). What I did was fill out the form they sent via post in pen, scan it, and email the pdf to [email protected]

Not guaranteed. That’s what they think the atar requirement will be. Given you’re a fair bit above that you have a very good chance.
