Yes loved all the above...and not much gets past Dr Seuss and his many many books about anything. Loved trying to read his books really fast and then trying to untie your tongue afterwards.

Ah yes Dr. Seuss as well! Especially Green Eggs and Ham ❤

Dr. Seuss was one of my favourite!

Also, Wombat Stew! I used to want to read that book everyday!
Especially the song: Wombat stew...Wombat stew.
However now  that I look at it that book's a bit sad.

I loved, and still love, Dr. Seuss.

Enid Blyton was my favourite: first, Noddy, then The Wishing Chair and the Faraway Tree series, and later, the detectives series (famous 5, five findouters and dog, etc), Malory Towers and St Clare's, and many more.

The hungry little caterpillar! That was the book that got me into my primary school :) (apparently I didn't speak for the majority of the interview, but just by chance I was shown this book and started talking non-stop about it )

I loved, and still love, Dr. Seuss.

YAAAS Enid Blyton! I think I re-read Malory Towers, St Clares, and the Faraway Tree series quite a few times :)

I remember reading Faraway Tree with my class in Year Two! I adored Friday afternoons, a whole hour of reading as a class.

My own favourite childhood book was Audrey and Barbra:

I remember trying not to read it too often, because I didn't want to get sick of it (in some ways, I think I loved it more for the person that gave it to me as a gift than the book itself). It still sits in my bookshelf as I type this!

Ahhh me too! Whenever they released a new group I always hoped one of them would be called my name but they never did :( I used to read the Go Girl! books as well and I absolutely loved Enid Blyton, and Jacqueline Wilson too I think (not sure if I loved her or was super shook from reading My Sister Jodie  :P)

I liked most of the books here. I had a huge collection of rainbow fairy magic books (got Katie and Caitlin :) ) and still have Enid Blyton in my bookshelf (Fantastic five, secret seven and the magic Faraway Tree). I also read Go Girl!, Emily Eyefinger, Tashi and Selby. And of course, Harry Potter :D.

The Magic Faraway Tree blew my fucking mind. I almost get shivers thinking about it.

James and the Giant Peach
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (thought it was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, seen the movie too much :P)
The Twits
The BFG

Basically any Roald Dahl book was my favourite childhood book, haha! I also liked the Singenpoo series by Paul Jennings, quite funny from what I remember.

Oh, yes, Captain Underpants! I loved these books as a kid. Toilet humour was the funniest thing ever to 8-year-old me, so I'd laugh and laugh at the books. I wondered what it would be like if my principal were to become Captain Underpants.

Top 3 childhood authors: Enid Blyton, Dr. Seuss, and Roald Dahl. Absolutely loved those books, they were awesome. To this day I love Dr. Seuss, though Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl have fallen out of favour of late.

The impact that the Chronicles of Narnia had on me as a child is unmeasurable. I have them to thank for leading me to the Lord of the Rings, and for that I love them. Also the 'Series of Unfortunate Events' was always a favourite, I expect for its sheer morbidity and mystery.

Some other people have said but to me the main ones were:
-Anything by Rohl Dahl
-Deltora quest
-Anything by Enid Blyton (particularly famous five and Mallory towers)
-Cherub
-warriors (a many book, multi series stories about cats with human emotions that I grew out of before they stopped writing - sometime during the 3rd series, I read the 1st several times)
-Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini (better known as Eragon)
-Pern series by Anne McAffrey (late primary school you would never see me without one of these books). It's targeted at older teens. I reread every now and again, still love them.

Books that literally shaped my childhood:
  - The Famous Five / Secret Seven
  - Deltora Quest
  - Selby / Emily Eyefinger
  - Anything written by Roald Dahl
  - Kevin the Troll (not as well known, but I remember reading this book as if it was a bible)
  - Harry Potter

And also, please tell me I wasn't the only kid who spent hours on I SPY books...

Hmmmm.......

I read a lot of nonfiction in primary school - any science in the school library (particularly a book called Oxygen which I kept coming back to because I couldn't get a grip on redox reactions), some space stuff and LOTS of marine biology and turtle focused texts.

My favourite fiction texts were probably:
- Harry Potter (J K Rowling)
- Deltora Quest ( Emily Rodda)
- Ranger's Apprentice ( John Flanagan)
- The Inheritance Cycle (Christopher Paolini)
- the Riftwar Saga (Raymond E Fiest)
