Based of last years exam an A for exam 1 about an 81% and an A for exam 2 was close to 73% which is what you would need to get a 35. with your scores, you could get between a 35-37.
-
Around what score might i get?
Exam 1 35/40
Exam 2 68/80
Sac - around top quartile in a strong cohort
Thanks :)
-
I really just want a 25 for methods, what do you guys reckon if I get like C for SACs and C on the exam?
-
same total as skrrt but 33 fot exam 1 and 70 for exam 2
since exam 1 technically countsore since the scores ppl get are closer, than for exam 2, would i get like 1 or 2 or even more study scores lower than skrrt?
I'm not sure of i'm in the top quartile though- sac avg is high 80s in a strong cohort where sac avg is 70-80 usually (i think)
-
Can someone please estimate my study score?
I'm ranking first in my cohort with an average sac mark of roughly 80%, but the class average is probably about 50-60%
Exam 1: 29/40
Exam 2: 64/80
Thanks
-
Can someone tell me if im still in the running for a raw or scaled 50??
Sacs were 99%
Exam 1: 39/40
Exam 2: 76/80
Thank you!
EDIT: Im rank 1 in my cohort atm if it changes anything.

Raw 50 highly unlikely
~raw 47 i reckon
Well done, losing only 5 marks across both is impressive :)

not sure if this is the right place to ask but how do you guys know what rank you are in your cohort??
and how strong your cohort is?
thank you so much in advance!
-
Hey im just wondering what study score (raw) i would receive if i get 32 in exam 1 and 64 in exam 2 with sac averages of 91.
-
I would say maybe a 37 or 38
-
Hey -
SAC AV: 80%
EXAM 1: 50%
Exam 2: ?
What exam 2 score do i need for a 35 study score?
-

Probably high 30s. Maybe low 40s if your sacs scale to a higher percentile than your exams.

You're likely to get something in the high 30s. I estimated this without accounting for sacs though - it assumes your sacs will be at an equivalent percentile to the average of your exams. This estimate could be pulled in either direction depending on how your sacs scale. Also just used last years grade distribution so it will be affected by changes to that this year.

Hi there, what study score would I get with a:
- 92% SAC average
- 37/40 exam 1
- 74/80 exam 2
Really hoping for a 45 raw, cheers!
-
Predictions? (I know my scores aren't pretty but give me predictions anyway)
SAC's: 80%
EXAM 1: 50%
EXAM 2: I think 45-55%
I honestly just want anything over a 30 x

Mid 40s.

A 30 would require approximately 50% on both exams (or for one to compensate for the other). With a 50% on exam 1 you'd have to get over 50% on exam two for it to work out to the correct percentile. So you're in the right area to get a 30, but depending on your exam 2 score and how your sacs scale, it could go either way.
-
SACs: 93% (Top 10 in strong cohort of over 100, with extremely strong top end)
Exam 1: 32/40
Exam 2: 68/80
-

40-43. Maybe a little higher if your sacs scale to a higher percentile than your exams which seems like it could be likely.
-
What does it take to get a raw 25?
If I got around 55% in sacs, 50% in exam 1 and 40% in exam 2, is it possible to get a raw 25?
-
SACs ~ 80%
Exam 1 ~ 29-30/40
Exam 2 ~ 72/80
Just wanting to know what I would approx. get. Thanks :)
-
Same here relatively similar sac and exam scores, could i lowkey pull a 30raw!?!??!
-
Rank 1 in a small, weak cohort
31/40 Exam 1
60/80 Exam 2
Any ideas?
-
Sacs- 96
Exam 1: 36-37
Exam 2: 77
can someone predict a range?
-
Use this website for study score predictions, it gives last year's score spreads and how they generally correlated with study scores:
https://twmpublications.com/statistics
I'd say Exam 1 was a fair bit easier than last year and Exam 2 a little bit harder (not sure how others felt), so take it with a grain of salt.

Yep you should get something a little over 25 with that (assuming sacs scale to an equivalent percentile to your exams).
SACs ~ 80%

39-42 dependent on how your sacs scale.

Assuming you're referring to nirgun.kaur? If so, possibly. For exam marks like that it will depend on the grade distribution and how your sacs scale.

hey there
sacs - 78-80% (I go to a selective school, strong cohort)
e1- 28-30/40

39-42 based on your exams, possibly a little higher if your're expecting your sacs to scale higher than that (they'd need to scale to at least around 90% to not drag that prediction down).
-
I'm so happy the methods exam is over - weakest exam down!
Does anyone know what kind of study score I'm looking at:
SACs: 62% (teacher says these usually go up by one grade if this helps)
Exam 1: 18/40 (butchered this exam)
Exam 2: 50/80
-
Does anyone know about how many marks you can drop for 50 raw assuming rank 1?
-
SACS - 93% // (top ten with above average upper end)
Exam 1 - 36/40
Exam 2 - 67/80 (choked so bad :'( ... I wanna roll up and cry but I still have exams)
-

Last year you could drop 3, but since this year is easier, maximum would probably be 2
SACS - 93% // (top ten with above average upper end)
Exam 1 - 36/40
Exam 2 - 67/80 (choked so bad :'( ... I wanna roll up and cry but I still have exams)
-17 based on 2018 distribution should get 42/43
-
Got 73 - 74 /80 on exam 2
38 on exam 1
Sac 1 average 45% got 85%
Sac 2 average 50% got 70%
Sac 3 average 60% got 95%
What study score should I be expecting
Thanks
-
hi!
sacs: 93% average cohort
exam 1: 33
exam 2: 70-75
-
Sacs 88% in above average cohort of 120
Exam 1 = 34/40
Exam 2 = 63/80
-
Prediction for my score? Hoping to get above 40 raw but I choked on exam 1
Sacs: 88% in average cohort
Exam 1: 31/40
Exam 2: 72/80
Thanks!

Sorry I know everyone’s doing it but thoughts?
SAC average: 83% (Rank: top 2 in a small class)
Exam 1: 30/40
Exam 2: 50/80
(give or take)
Btw if it helps, our SACs usually scale down.
Mid 30s.
hi!

It's possible you'll get a 40, but it will depend on how your sacs scale. Otherwise high 30s.
-
Can someone pls predict my ss
Sac: 92% above average cohort (w/ strong top-end)
Exam 1: 37/40

Hi, New to VCE
what it means by ‘how your sacs scale’
Curious to know
-
SACS: 97 (above avg cohort)
Exam 1: 38-39/40
Exam 2: 73-76/80

Hi, New to VCE
what it means by ‘how your sacs scale’
Curious to know
A 90% at one school isn't the same as A 90% at another schools because different schools do different sacs. To make sac marks fair between schools, vcaa disregards the percentage you get on your sacs and instead uses your rank within your cohort and your cohorts exam performance to scale your sac.
Eg. If one cohort of 4 people gets exam scores of 90%, 80%, 70%, and 60% and another cohort of 4 people gets exam scores of 70%, 50%, 30%, and 10% then a person who is rank 2 in the first cohort will have their sacs scale to around 80% whereas a person who is rank 2 in the second cohort will have their sacs scale to around 50% - and this will be true regardless of whether they have the same % mark on their sacs. (The difference isn't usually that drastic though because cohorts are larger than 4 people). There's more on how it works here under the heading "sac moderation"
SACS: 97 (above avg cohort)
Exam 1: 38-39/40
Exam 2: 73-76/80
44-47
-
so i finished 8/45 in my cohort (weak cohort)
these are my worst possible exam scores
18/40 exam 1 (hopefully i got like 24, either way flunked it)
64/80 exam 2 (god bless CAS)
could someone please confirm my calcs that i might just get over 30
-

Yep, you should definitely be fine with that, regardless of how your sacs get moderated. Just based off the exams and last years grade distribution, you could get around a 35 (although your sacs could alter that).
-
So I got 86% in a cohort of more than 100. If I get 36/40 in exam 1 and 65-66/80 in exam 2, what do you reckon my study will be?
-
To give some context, last year I got 37/40 in exam 1 and 78/80 in exam 2 and still got a 49. So I think you can afford to drop a fair few marks across both exams and still get a score in the high 40s.
-

Probably a borderline 40
-
Can someone predict for my study score?
SAC: 67% in a average cohort
Exam 1: 30-31/40
Exam 2: 64-66/80
Is it still possible for mid 30?

Should be fine for mid-30s. Your exam 1 is a little low but the exam 2 should be a high A/low A+.
-
Can someone help me predict a study score for this year please?
SAC: 80% U3, 86% U4
Both SAC scores were in the upper range of the upper quartile. So I'm probably in the top 5 of a medium cohort.
Exam Scores Prediction:
E1: 35/40
E2: 65/80
I go to a private school but the cohort is not the strongest. For methods there are 39 people in my cohort sitting methods. I just need to know if I can get above 40 with this and hopefully if 45 is still in reach. Thank you so much! :)

Your exams score suggest around a 40 study score given the exam is of decent difficult and not too easy.
