ETC3510 VS MTH3251

So word from Graham Forbes were that the two units are essentially the same except the type of assessment,

MTH 3251:
Assignments: 20%
Weekly exercises: 10%
Final examination (three hours): 70%

ETC3510:
Within semester assessment: 40%
Examination: 60%.

Well, I assume the units would still each be different in its own way? anyone has any insights or have completed these units? or just in general which one should I go for that you think would be easier to do well in haha.

MTH3251 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ETC3510 by a long shot

in general, never take the bus eco version of the science faculty's units, reason is simple: the buseco units try to cater for all types of students thus they do not delve into the mathematical concepts, they just gloss over it and give an intuitive explanation (which does not suffice), definitely do mth3251, the concepts are more firmly grounded, there is rigorously mathematical reasoning behind all financial mathematics (arbitrage, ito's integral, brownian motion, martingales, random walk etc), ETC3510 is too 'diluted' you just touch on the maths and then are expected to know how manipulate all the maths.
