Bachelor of Arts - Breadth / free points in first year?

Hi,

First of all apologies if this is a stupid question... I've been overseas and unable to attend any information sessions or O-week activities and am now a bit confused trying to sort out my subjects.
I've picked Psych, Art History and Language in my 'Arts Foundation and Discipline' section and then French 5 in my 'Breadth and Free points' section, as that was the only place I could find it. I know that French can't be a breadth subjection for arts, but is it okay to have it as part of the 'free points' in my course? If somebody could clarify / explain this to me that would be so helpful!

Thanks!
class of twenty fifteen.

My Arabic classes have been all over my study plan with no issues. The only way I can see this affecting anything is if you're planning on doing the maximum 6 breadth subjects in your degree, and French is listed as taking up one of those slots in your study plan. Even then I figure you'd just submit an enrolment variation form to Stop 1 (super simple) and it'd be fine.

I'm doing science and my course plan has:
4 breadth subjects
2 breadth or science subjects
Rest science subjects

I'm guessing your "free points" are breadth or arts subjects. You can have French as part of your free points, but that doesn't take up your breadth, which means you'll still have 4 more compulsory breadth to do. I'd recommend putting it into your arts subjects if you can, as free points has the option of breadth or arts.

I'm only just starting science so it may not be 100% correct but hope this helps anyway :)
