Does anybody else qualify for this?
It is a PAIN! Well, at least in Arts it is.
Today I was told that I must do 2 out of my 4 (not inc. IDF or Breadth) subjects in Australian studies (because that is what my advanced standing falls under). Is it just me or does that make no sense?
My other option was to do only 3 subjects per semester (including IDF and Breadth), which leaves my with 2 actual elective subjects for the whole year.
I was under the impression (from both Monash and Melbourne) that if I did only one second year subject this year (not two, as I was told today) I would speed up my major well enough.
So now I have to decide whether to significantly narrow my course options by doing 2 Australian studies, or just ditch advanced standing and be a normal student.
This sucks :(
My question is: Has anybody else applied for advanced standing? What was the process of that, and how was your course affected?
