I'm pretty sure that it is FAD -> FADH2
not FADH+
But as phoenix said, you won't need it.
Oh wow I need to read better.... I read n article that said that a lot of people MISTAKENLY believe the unloaded form to be FADH+ and read that as it BEING FASH+.... -.-

Thanks for that, though it's not needed for the exam

Non cellular. They're proteins.

Does a selection pressure act on an organism through the environment or a predator?

I think it depends on the selection pressure.

So they can be both?
Also do you have examples where it can be either?

A selection pressure can be anything that impacts the fitness of an organism.

E.g. a plant may face a selection pressure from beetles eating it and also be facing selection pressure from a saline environment at the same time

Nah you're right. VCE way oversimplifies it. There's also some evidence that muscle cells produce more. VCAA does't like ranges though so just pick one.
so don't put 32-34 ATP produced during the electron transport chain and just stick to 32 or 34?

yep. and 36 or 38 in total, not 36-38.

Heading off to sleep, the last question:
Would it be right to say, RNA polymerase reads the DNA template strand from 3'-5' and synthesises the mRNA in a 5' - 3' direction.

Yep. Just be careful you're clear if you're going to say that in the exam.

Hi! I was wondering where to find a document of the Unit 3/4 Biology study design dot points... I had a quick look on the VCAA website but didn't find much :)

Hey!
The study design is here (that link will download the pdf). You'll have to scroll down a bit to find the dot points.

There's also some notes I wrote up here that explains what's meant by each dot point without you having to understand the jargon.

Hi everyone,

With study scores and ATAR being released next week, I have been overthinking my biology study score.
I received As on all unit 3 SACs and received all As and one A+ on unit 4 SACs. I believe that I got 37/40 for multiple choice on the exam, and felt relatively confident about the short answer section. I really want to get 40 or above. I know people can't predict what VCAA will do, but can anyone with similar marks to me provide some insight?

Thanks  :) :)

Hey,
With this information I can't tell you whether you'll get 40 or above. Generally to get a 40 you need to average an A+ across all three GAs. It's possible that your sac scores will be moderated up to make them an A+, however they could also be moderated down. An A+ for the exam will probably be around 80% but if you don't have an idea of what mark you got on the short answer, that isn't really useful information for working out your score. It is possible for you to get a 40 with those marks, but it would depend on how your sacs get moderated and how you went on the exam.
