This was super helpful! Hopefully our model is clear and concise. Thank you so much for taking the time to actually write that for me. Really appreciate it. :)

16th of March, 2017

This is just a short entry about my University Extension subject, but it's still a part of my VCE, and the most enjoyable one at that (just don't tell my teachers) ;)

Yesterday, I had my first lab for Anatomy & Physiology. We went to the anatomy museum on campus, where we got to view and handle a variety of different human organs and body parts, which was really interesting to see. Everyone was really respectful, which was good to see. A few people had to leave the room though -- not for lack of respect, but just because of (understandable) queasiness.

I stayed behind to discuss some of the things I saw (spoiler alert: so many indications that smoking is bad for you), how they're preserved, stuff like that.

I'll keep zipped ;)

That must've been really cool to see! I 100% get the queasiness problem, I got queasy myself today (for future reference: don't watch macular degeneration treatment videos), however I'm that you didn't leave! :)
What things did you see, other than lungs? :)

Yes, i'm having some fun because I don't have any sacs this week.
For economics, it's a really contect heavy subject, sort of like busman, and economics has a lot of tricky concepts

Oh no! Well, I know what I'm looking up on YouTube after I reply here...

Oh, I saw quite a lot -- there were about 12 tables, all with various systems. There was everything from intestines to hearts to stomachs to brains to arms to legs to eyes (much more than this, but I won't list everythinh haha). It's weird, but I was quite surprised at how heavy a lot of it was.  There were incisions on them so we could see their layers, and see inside them and other things. We'll be going back there as we study each individual system, which is really interesting!

I was also given the password to the specimen lab, so I feel really special, even though it's not much of a privilege :D

What's your favourite thing about your new-found study of biology? :D

Please don't. You'll regret it, hahah. However 12 tables worth of stuff is a lot! Hopefully going into the systems in a lot more detail is really interesting for you! ^_^ (we start looking in more detail about the systems starting next week with the nervous system- something I already know a bit about from year 11 psych- actually excited! )

Ah, it must feel super special to have access free reign to the specimen lab! ;D

I don't want to ramble on much about myself, but my favourite thing has to be the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. ;)

16/3/2017 Had my physics SAC today but everyone including me absolutely hated it. Well, I guess I need to prep hard for my specialist and English SAC in 2 weeks.

- Got my chem SAC back. I'm happy with it but I made careless errors.  :'(
- Spesh  quiz was alright. I have to revise soon because the SAC is now on Wednesday.
- Did the bio photosynthesis prac today. Was interesting but now I'm scared for my first bio sac on Friday 24th. A single period determines 8% of study score ??? :o
- Parent teacher interviews very very soon. I hate those.
-  I'm not gonna do much work today. Might just read a book  ;)

It was about looking at how different light intensities affected the rate of photosynthesis. We used algal balls and compared it to the standards to measure the initial and final pH.

One sac wont determine 8%

so many people underestimate how heavily the exams alter the sac scores
