One sac wont determine 8%

so many people underestimate how heavily the exams alter the sac scores
We have 2 SACs for  unit 3 and they are both weighed equally. The total unit 3 contributes 16%. At least, that's how its going to work in my school. :)

Your sac marks are moderated by vcaa to match your exam performance.

Sorry for derailing the thread.

That is wrong (afaik). Sac marks are moderated according to your rank, and the exam marks achieved by your cohort. If you are rank 3 in your cohort in the end, then your sac marks will be moderated according to the third highest exam mark received in your cohort.  Your exam performance may not determine your SAC marks (after moderation) if you don't get the marks relative to your rank in your cohort.

I should also add that you do keep your exam marks. It just that for the purposes of SAC moderation, your rank is used to determine your final SAC marks.

To vcestressed: just try your best at every sac (be it a year 11 or year 12 test/ Sac), and make sure you do relatively* well.

* relative to your cohort in year 12

It was about looking at how different light intensities affected the rate of photosynthesis. We used algal balls and compared it to the standards to measure the initial and final pH.

Haha we did that same respiration vs photosynthesis prac, it's pretty cool.

Just make sure you understand:
more light > more photosynthesis than cellular respiration > less CO2 > increase in pH > colour change in indicator

And obviously the opposite for less/no light.

Always link your responses back to the observable change and of course, understand the theory behind photosynthesis and respiration (basically process and inputs/outputs).

Was it the one where you glued the vials on the ruler and then had it 10 cm apart in a black painted cardboard light box? I agree, its pretty cool. Thanks  :)

=16th of March 2017=
-pre read chem prac
-do some more methods hw
-basically forgot there was a shit ton of physics work that was due the next day so I did that instead of posting this c:

=17th of March 2017=
-chem prac went really well, suprised that the class before us took so long to finish.
-english was.. something. didn't pass that first text analysis SAC so I'm going to re-do it monday afterschool so I'm going to need to prep for that. got some nice feedback on how I could improve so I know what I'm doing.
-so hyped for english oral; pretty much have it all planned out so I have about 1.5 weeks to write a script and record it
-methods sac on permutations and combinations coming up wednesday so gotta start a bound reference to update as well as practice tests.
-gotta make sure I'm up to date with textbook questions for each bio, chem and phys so thatll be a huge priority
-went for a massage and im feeling soo relaxed  ;D feels good c:

We did it a bit differently. Just had four test tubes and wrapped two up in foil so no light was let in and then kept two in light. One of the tubes in each of the conditions had the plant and one didn't so we ended up having two controls.

I've only had internet for a few years of my life total -- trust me, the library is your friend :P

Why does this resonate so deeply

I've only had internet for a few years of my life total -- trust me, the library is your friend :P

(...just not the Werribee library past 3, avoid it like I avoid my homework)

Lol productivity is always at an all time high at the library

I understand that struggle, happens to me all the time! :P

the pain is relatable :P
