Title: Chinese SL 3/4 next year or year 12
Post by: WhatisaMeMe on July 19, 2019, 05:56:50 pm
Hello atarnote forums
I am in year 10 this year and I would like to ask whether I should do Chinese SL 3/4 next year or in year 12. Currently I am doing a 1/2 Science subject inside of school and also another Chinese 1/2 at XJS. I am not allowed to do exam 3/4 at XJS as my school offers Chinese SL.

My Chinese I think is average

Cheers

Sorry for the late reply, but I would choose doing Chinese 3/4 in Year 11. It substantially alleviates the burden of learning and memorising large chunks of text in Year 12, which you must take into account other subjects. Additionally in 2020, the same study design is retained which gives a benefit for you to practice through past papers.  In my opinion, you can easily improve in Chinese if you put in the effort. Is your pronunciation accurate? If so, just work on your vocabulary! There is a conversation thread for you to practice too!
