Free rice is great fun, wasted/used productively many many hours playing that.

could we do french from scrath as a breadth subject?

So long as you weren't planning on doing an Arts degree, that'll be fine.

just now, stayed between 45 and 47 for about 30 questions
level 50 is waaaaay harder than 45, i find. at 45 i can guess many of the ones i don't know, but at 50 the options are really similar and seemingly designed to trick you

I've never understood the desire to learn dead languages but I guess if it interests you then go for it. I'm sure Melbourne would have avenues available for people who wish to do such a thing.

yer that's what i used to think, why learn a language never used? But i figured, why care if it is used or not, if you know it, well then you know more than the person next to you. It's all about learning something new and doing something that is unorthodox; i.e. for me at least.
It'll also improve your understanding of English, and would help you learn other languages in the future, if you wanted.
yeh, you'd totally pwn at beezy4eva's favourite game:

Now I'm addicted. :P

EDIT: Donated 2000 grains of rice in less than half an hour... With GERMAN! I'm surprised at how similar it is to English, actually. :O

I did an introductory Latin course in my first semester of uni. No prior knowledge is assumed; they teach you the basics. It was a pretty awesome course, and you learn everything pretty quickly.

I wish I had done my VCE with all languages; but then I presume there would be restrictions. :(
