It takes three people to convey a point of view.
Would that be possible?

I've never understood the desire to learn dead languages but I guess if it interests you then go for it. I'm sure Melbourne would have avenues available for people who wish to do such a thing.

yer that's what i used to think, why learn a language never used? But i figured, why care if it is used or not, if you know it, well then you know more than the person next to you. It's all about learning something new and doing something that is unorthodox; i.e. for me at least.

so let's say i do engineering or science at melbourne and i want to also learn latin, would i do it as a breadth or something? Also do you think latin could be learned within a couple of years if no prior knowledge is held?\
any help will be appreciated.
find out how long you have to study it to do advanced/post vce Latin.
Also it's possible they have it at the Melbourne Uni summer school.

LOL. Yeah, a working knowledge of Latin *and* a $5000 mobile phone and you'll be way ahead of the pack

Yep. It's rather hard though, 267 different letters to learn, some of them very intricate :P

It'll also improve your understanding of English, and would help you learn other languages in the future, if you wanted.
