I honestly don’t even know where this discussion is meant to be in terms of sub forum but anywayyy...

Can anyone tell me good UMAT preparation courses that actually worked for them, what you got and success stories? Like how did you guys prepare for the UMAT and what do you guys recommend?

First of all, I’m just going to point out that the UMAT tests one’s own ability. Therefore, results from prep courses will vary for each person. Some people may find them helpful, but others may not.

There are several UMAT prep courses out there. One of the most popular is Medentry and this was what I did. It’s rather expensive but it contains heaps of drills and practice exams, and also some guides. I did the distance package, so it didn’t include the workshop. But from what I’ve heard, the workshop is rather good.

I only started prep about three months before the UMAT. I completed about a third of the drills but all ten practice exams. I think it was good to have been exposed to a lot of questions and to have practiced sitting through a 3 hour exam.

To be honest though, I probably may have done well without Medentry though. There wasn’t much improvement between my marks from when I started and when I finished. But it was reassuring to know that I was doing some prep, so I felt a bit more confident and prepared on the day.

If you are willing to pay for a prep course, I would recommend Medentry. I’ve also heard good reviews about alternatives such as ICanMed. However, since I didn’t do other prep courses, I can’t really talk about them.
