Does someone get 1 as their ATAR score?

Because ATARs are just ranks comparing students with other students, does that mean, in every single subject, someone has to get 1? Just like like someone has to get 50?

How shattered would you be if you did get 1 though lmfao.

Does anyone here know anyone who's gotten 1 as their score for any of their subjects?

Thanks.

I doubt someone who got "1" as their ATAR would:
1) Probably care #yolo #swag
2) Tell anyone

Also, correct me if I'm mistaken, but I think if you get below 30 ATAR you have to request to see your real ATAR?

One of my mates got 27 as stated on the letter in the mail, so I don't think you have to request it.

Ohhhhh yeah I meant study scores not ATAR scores. I knew I forgot something lol, thanks.

But thinking about it now, if 99.95 means you're in the top 0.05% of the state, would someone have to get 0.05 as their ATAR score?
Just like how 50 is the top study score (top ranked students) would the bottom ranked students receive 1?

In the title, you refer to ATAR score, however, in the body, you're referring to study score, so I'm not exactly sure which one you're actually asking for.
Regardless, for ATAR, you receive an atar 'less than 30.' I'm not sure whether you can find the actual ATAR when you get a 'less than 30'. Maybe you do have to ask for it.

The lowest automatically reported ATAR is 30.00, with ATARs below 30.00 being reported as ‘less than 30’.

For study score, you can get a study score of 1 in any subject, but you must've done really REALLY bad in a subject to get that. :P

If you complete at least two Graded Assessments, and have satisfactorily completed both unit 3 and 4, you will be awarded a study score.

This is a bit off topic, but is it possible to have a subject without a 50 as the highest score? Eg. Turkish and Texts and Traditions had only 48 and 49 as the highest scores in 2012. Or is it just that the students who achieved 50 choose not to have their results made public?

Yeah, possible with the smaller subjects.

eg. Latin hasn't had a 50 in a long time

In all seriousness, you'd have to go out of your way to get anything less than a 10 SS. My mate who got a 27 ATAR, sat on his phone every class, didn't study and really didn't give a shit and got a 22 SS in legal...

Yeah, there have been people that have dropped out of a subject half way through the year and still got study scores of about 5.

i know 100% that you cant get a 50 in classical greek because not enough students do it. the bell curve goes all funny in small subjects

I'm not really sure a study score of one is mathematically possible... I mean, if the median is 30 with an approximate standard deviation of 7, you'd be four standard deviations below the mean... Is that even possible in this context? Lol.
