Circle Geometry Wording

Hi,
when writing down a proof for circle geometry, must we write down the whole line of reasoning to gain full marks, e.g. The angle between a tangent and a chord is equal to the inscribed angle on the opposite side of the chord or instead can we write angle in alternate segment?

As far as I am aware of, the "alternate segment theorem" is the only one that can be abbreviated.

Some HSC markers are more lenient about this, but not all are. Choosing to abbreviate essentially every other theorem is a gamble; if your paper happens to be marked by a nice person then it's fine but if otherwise then you may be penalised.

That being said, this is for the HSC. For any internal assessment, whatever your teacher says goes.

I've done both in previous exams and I didn't lose any marks.

When you say this, do you mean you've already done your HSC or just your teacher accepted it for internal assessment?

Like I said, note that for internal assessments, whatever your teacher says goes.

It is only a gamble in the final exam.
