VERY STRONG COHORT NOT SURE MY RANK but there is a few VERY STRONG PEOPLE LIKE THEY GET 100% OR CLOSE ON SACS

SAC average : 86.2%
EXAM 1: about 38/40
EXAM 2: about 58/60

ALSO what is considered to be an A+, A, A- etc in subjects in terms of sac scores and exams

Raw SS for physics?

Unit 3 Sac Average: 50%
Unit 4 Sac Average: 63.3%

What should I aim for exam for raw ss25? In a decent cohort of 20-ish students, not absolute worst but definitely lower than most others.

I’m rank 5-10 in a fairly strong cohort
I screwed up my exam very badly, is it still possible to get above 30?

I think your scores are more than enough to get a 30, I have some friends who took biology and were averaging 50s and still got ss30.

It depends on how the people in your cohort went. Nonetheless, with the information provided a 32-34 is possible imo

A 44-46 is possible. For the second question refer to the grade distributions 0f 2018.

About 45% should get you there. 25 study scores are usually achieved with a C, C, C. In some cases a D also suffices. Nevertheless, you should aim for 60% just to be safe.

I could probably predict my own score but i would like a secondary input

For methods:
SACS: 70% average cohort
Exam 1: 33/40
Exam 2: 66/80

For Specialist:
SACS: 55% not sure what cohort is, sac average around 55%
Exam 1: 30/40
Exam 2: 60/80

For physics:
SACS: 80% average cohort
Exam: 90/130
Be critical with the predictions rather than be generous :)

Been seriously worried about methods lately so am just a bit curious.

- SAC average - 81%, rank about 6-7 with a cohort of strong top ten, the rest is average to weak.
- Ex 1 - 29/40 - around 70%
- Ex 2 - 65/80 - around 80%

Is it enough to get a 35??

Yep. Your sacs would have to scale down drastically (like, to a D) for you to get below 35 with that. You're probably around the 37/38 mark.

I could probably predict my own score but i would like a secondary input

For methods:
SACS: 70% average cohort
Exam 1: 33/40
Exam 2: 66/80

For Specialist:
SACS: 55% not sure what cohort is, sac average around 55%
Exam 1: 30/40
Exam 2: 60/80

For physics:
SACS: 80% average cohort
Exam: 90/130
Be critical with the predictions rather than be generous :)
For all of these I've calculated it both just using exam marks, and using exam marks and raw sac marks. As long as your sac either remain where they are or scale up no further than equivalent to your exam percentile, they should be relatively accurate (although changes to the grade distribution will affect them regardless). If your sacs scale down or scale up above your exams then these will be off a little.

Methods: 36-38
Specialist: 33-35
Physics: 33-35

Can someone predict study score:

Cohort (Moderate)
Rank around 4
51% Unit 3 (I dint get this but this is the practice exam result for the person ranked above me)
61 Unit 4
92% Exam

Is it a raw 40?

Sorry that was for chem
Just off your exam, around a 42. If I include your raw sac marks, it drops down to around 34, but I would just ignore that - either your sacs are going to scale up or your exam prediction is wrong. To get a 40, your sacs would need to scale up to around a mid to high A.

Quote
Methods predict study score
SAcS:55%
Exam one: 45%
Exam two: 25%

Rank four in a moderate cohort
Mid 20s.

Does that mean a 25 or more?
No it doesn't. You could get a 25+ but it will depend on changes to the grade distribution and how sacs scale. When I work it out using percentage per ss and weight it for each section, you're in the top 77% of students - and the top 78% will get a 25+. You're likely a little higher than 77% because you weren't at the bottom of each grade bracket I used to calculate that, which means you have a good chance of getting a 25, but your sacs scaling down or changes to the grade distribution may prevent that.

For physics (Strong cohort- person ranked above me averaged 99%)

Unit 3- 85% (Rank 3)
Unit 4- 90% (Rank 2)
Exam- 92%

Will that be enough for a 44? Or do I need to increase my projected score in the exam?
No, that's in the 39-42 area.

Well my SAC averages were the following: Unit 3: 80%
                                                                     Unit 4: 87%
Exam: 92% (avg for vcaa exams)

And so if the person above me in terms of ranking got 51% in their trial exam and lets say has potential to increase their mark by 10% where does this put me in terms of study score. (I got an A+ in the same trial exam as the person ranked above me)

No, that's in the 39-42 area.

So I would need 96% in the exam for a 44 study score in physics?

It doesn't really matter what the person ranked above you gets. You're rank 4 so your sac will scale to approximately the 4th highest exam score - regardless of who gets it. So how your sacs scale will depend on how others in your cohort do on the exam, but I can't predict that.

So I would need 96% in the exam for a 44 study score in physics?
Yeah probably around there, but it would depend on how your sacs scaled.
