clearly in rank
« on: January 03, 2021, 11:17:52 pm »
for unimelb, if i get above the clearly in/lowest selection rank but i get lower than the atar for guaranteed entry, how likely is it that i will get a first round offer?
For more context, I want to study bachelor of science, the clearly in/lowest selection rank was 85 and the atar for guaranteed entry is 88. i got an atar of 86.05. ive heard that as long as you get above the clearly in youre guaranteed an offer (??) idk how true this is.

Short answer: Good chance of getting in, but not an actual guarantee.

Slightly longer answer: Lowest selection rank changes yearly, although usually not by a huge amount (give or take maybe a couple of ATAR “points” either side for most courses), so I’d be cautious in saying you’re guaranteed in, but your chances are quite good. From memory, previous years (besides the last cohort) have had students with a similar ATAR enter the UoM BSci without issue.
