From memory TSSM and Heffernan are easier exams. Try one of those. And aim for whatever you want. But that won't change anything. The most important part of practice exams is analysing your errors, it is through this that you can improve.

And, as 99.95_for_sure said, being generous doesn't help you in the slightest. In fact it is better to be as stringent in your marking as possible.

Before the mid year chem exam
me and a friend decided on which papers we would do, and we'd do them at the same time under exam conditions
then we marked them ourselves without any generosity and compare marks
if that helps motivate you then try that, cos i always tried hard cos i wanted the higher mark out of us 2 each time :D

For the first few I was spending way too much time. It seemed much longer because I was stop-starting like you are...

One of my first ones took two and a half hours but by the end I was finishing in just over an hour. And I did the real exam in ~90 mins.

Exam 1 is much shorter and generally the questions are all the same.

awesomeee thankss, but i'm prone to making silly errors so i shouldn't get my hopes up too much.
i just finished 2006 exam like you did (ha ha) and i got 78% overall across both. guess that's ok, apparently it is ~35 study score range according to the statistics... and my teacher was saying how much work a 35 required, pfft.

i actually think it was an easier exam, but not sure..
just has that two very high B+'s (1 or 2 marks off an A) is around ~25% of the state, and that equates to a 35. hmm

I did the 2006 paper 1 these holidays minus the probability and it was very straight forward I believe. Not too difficult and it did not take long to complete either - but when I come across probability I'm sure it wouldn't be too time consuming to complete in an exam anyway....

Do you need all A+'s to get 40 RAW? I'm averaging low A at the moment but can get it as high as to a low A+ ? Just trying to prioritise between by subjects.

so vexx, you got 78% doing 2006 exam 1 (1 hour one) minus probability?
so as in 78% out of all the questions you did attempt

Not to put a dampener on everyone's spirits, but 2006 was concidered an easy exam. When they first marked it, too many people were getting too high marks and it was too hard to properly differentate between people at the top end, so they had to go and re-mark the paprers with a majorly anal marking system. This is where even the smalest things like not labling intecepts as a corrdinate e.g. (0,3) as opposed to just writing "3" lost you a mark and why you reli need to be sure you get all this small stuff right, just in case it is a easy exams with tight marking.

Yea I heard 2006 exam 1 was overly simple. Was it exam 2 also??
